So I got attend Axial Fest this year, my friend Dean/Chino63 had invited several times over the years past but I could never make it out. I had built another truck specifically for the event but last minute decided to get this truck going as well. I slapped a Hobbywing Quicrun ESC in, a hand brothers servo mount, and older hitec high torque servo, castle BEC and a 35 turn integy lathe motor. The truck worked well for its first time out, I did pick up some better foams from RPP Hobby which made a tremendous difference. Everyone was pretty shocked at how well the the gladiators worked. I predict once they wear in some more they will work even better. The truck worked well considering how heavy it is and despite the very scale axles snagging the rocks a lot. I did loose the bolt and bushings in the dinky rear canti set up due to a noobie error of not applying lock tight but Dean and I rigged it back together to get it through the course we were on and it held the rest of the trip. This has always been a favorite rig of mine because of the badass cage work done by 1Tuff40, and it held up great as it took several tumbles and rolls throughout the weekend and yet the awesome airbrushed paint remains looking schweet . I have some upgrades planned, including a nice Tekin Brushless system courtesy of Thanks again Vadger! boyband loves you Took some rad photos of this thing, was great to wheel with all my west coast friends again, it was 10 years to long! |
