Default JP's El-Humino

I got bit by the bug to build another scaler. I'm nowhere near as talented as most of the people on this site, but I do enjoy building something and making it my own.

Started off with a stock SCX-10, and upgraded from there:
Vanquish front & rear curries.
Vanquish titanium links
Vanquish CMS & 3 link
Hot racing transmission internals
MIP driveshafts

Also decided to try some Vanquish wheels and locked up scale hardware, I will admit the hardware does set if off.

Lots of nice parts, but nothing really special or different.

I came across this Hummer HX body and thought I'd give it a shot.

The wheelbase is quite a bit shorter than 12.3", I could probably shorten my wheelbase to fit under the body, but I've wanted to try my hand at modifying a hard body.

First cuts always the hardest (it was actually pretty easy)

Cut #2, a little more difficult but I'm still feeling confident. No going back now.

Roughly the end result I'm going for.

I stocked up on some styrene and glue to finish the body. My plan is to do some sort of cage work on this one as well, assuming I don't actually ruin the body.

Wow those axles and wheels are stunning. The hummer lid kinda kills it for me.
