| Jellylander with a space-cruiser body.
Hey!* What's up?* It's been quite some time since I've ordered an actual kit from the outerweb.* Probably around 6 years if I were to guess...* And that was an 1/8th scale nitro go-fast race machine... Now, I've put together a few slow-moving turks, but nothing super-scale...* I figured I would change it up a little!* * I'm not sure what a Geolander is, but it sounds pretty cool. * A cat!?* AWWWW!!!!* He's so soft and fluffy! But I think I may be missing something... * Looks like some kind of Jeep.* In outer-space.* Space-Jeep. Here are the destructions! * Looks complicated! * That's thicker than the last Hardy Boys novel I read! * Lots of current tire choices... But I'm pretty confident in my wheel choice ; ) * * Possibly with these...* We shall see... * I kind of dig the luggy look with the old-school steelie.* Kind of has an "I'm here to party" vibe about it, without getting too loud and disturbing the neighbors.* But I guess I have plenty of time to figure this out... |

So I finally started putting this pig together this afternoon, and all I have to say is* WOW! Putting this kit together was fun, and I can say this will not be my last kit from rc4wd.* Everything went together smoothly and needless to say I was impressed.* If you're on the fence about getting one of these, hop off the fence and just get it.* Now. While this is my first rc4wd kit, this is not my first rodeo with their famous Yota axles...* I <3 them... Wraith axles can suck it... Shim them if need be and grease them up good... This is the grease that I use.* I like it because it's completely impervious to all elements.* You can't powerwash this stuff off, I'm telling you... The "WG" stands for "winter grade".* Long story short - It's not as thick in colder temperatures...* * And we have a roller!* A blank canvas for awesomeness... * I will admit after playing around with these dirt-grabbers, I have grown pretty fond of their looks. Call me crazy.* I just wish they were a little bit bigger : / |

So after getting the body in one piece I decided to take a couple outdoor shots with some better lighting.* This thing is a monster size-wise, and is also quite a tank in the weight department...* * I put together a few different tire and wheel combinations with what I already had lying around.* Not much really, but a few options...* I'm wanting to try and balance out that space-station of a body lol. Growlers and Gmades...Ruh-roh Hraggy...* * Iroks and steelies... * Iroks and Gmades...* I can dig it... * OG Flat Irons and Gmades...* * Out of what I already have, these are my two picks... * * |

And as far as tires go, I dunno... I haven't really fallen in love with anything I have tried on yet. I do know it needs a serious altitude adjustment though, so I may play around with that a little tonight and see if that broadens any horizons.

No major updates as I'm still hashing out what to do with that body.* I'm kind of intimidated by it to be perfectly honest.* I know in the end, it's just a piece of plastic...* But it's an epic piece of plastic. That's amazingly detailed. And smooth as a spanked baby's bottom. Anywho!!! Since the tire issue was kind of bugging me I decided to swing by the lhs and found these babies... * Still needs lowered quite a bit... * Yep.* Much More Better. * Hot diggity dog. * I feel a lot better about this already! |

Looking good. I liked the wheels that came with my cruiser, but they wouldn't accomodate the Proline swampers I bought. :( The wagon wheels are almost as old school as the plain steelers. |

Thank you sir! You can get prolines and pit bulls to work with the wagon wheel beadlocks but it's tricky. I got the Growlers to mount to my steelies on my Hilux build, but it took some time. Thought about using white wagon wheels on the Cruiser, but thought the steelies were more fitting for the direction I'm taking it... Last edited by Reflektr; 09-14-2015 at 11:32 AM. |

Howdy-do boys and... umm...* Anywho.... It took some serious thought, but I decided to pull the trigger on a set of leaf springs for the FJ.* Not that it's a huge purchase or big deal or anything, but dismantling and drilling holes in an already-nice new flawless $400 kit kind of is a semi-big deal to me considering I don't do it on the daily... ...and just like a bad "That's what she said" joke...* RPP came early. And I was ecstatic. The goods for updating purposes of scale Jeep-like toy trucks: * I also decided on a color for the body and* repainted the steelies... * More updates to follow! |

So the floppy-wobbly-poochy-tire situation got under my skin just enough to make me do something about it, while some primer was drying...* Yes.* That tire is going to swallow that entire* foam... As you can see, the foams made it quite a bit taller.* May not look like much, but those are quite a few scale inches... * I'm pretty tickled with the color on these wheels too.* I think the gunmetal looks rather dapper with the Stompers. Still a little poochy, but I think that just comes with trying to stretch a 1.55 tire to fit a 1.9 wheel.* I've massaged around on them quite a bit and it seems to help.* Venting the tire helps quite a bit as well. * And that's all for tonight... |

Looking really good. What paint did you use? That looks really shiny and smooth.

Thanks! That there's a Rustoleum color called Harbor Blue. The primer I used was also of the Rustoleum variety. And I have no clue how it turned out so well, considering I normally can't paint to save my life

I like your choice of wheel tire combo. What foams are those that you crammed in there? Looking forward to seeing this machine completed.

| Re: Jellylander with a space-cruiser body. Thanks you! The 1.55 tire on the 1.9 wheel had me on the struggle bus I must say, but I couldn't part with the 6-lug steelie or the 1.55 Stomper... The foam is actually a 4.25 Nova. Makes the tire pretty stiff, but straightens it up nice on the bigger wheel.

I think you have done a bang up job on the little girl so far. I love that shade of blue on early yoders |
