In 2008 I got this body and put it on the TL01, since the wheelbase was spot on. My brother took it to one expedition and we found out what we already knew. TL01 is not exactly great offroader. Some time later the body changed color and lost bumpers and parts of the doors. Then I sent it to a friend, who builds custom chassis and cages and he started his magic. See for yourselves: Pretty cool, right. Last edited by Leprasol; 09-01-2015 at 12:19 PM. |

I got the chassis on Tuesday and was planning to leave for Recon G6 in Erzberg on Friday. That gave me three days to do something with it...not exactly lot of time when you have little kid and a job. So I started. Axles were already prepared...standard SCX with a little extras. Underdrive in rear axle. Beeftubes, alu C's and Hi-steer knuckles, CVD's and Crawlster BTA steering in front. Steering seemed promising. Wheels were also prepared...RockBeasts on alloy beadlocks. Last edited by Leprasol; 08-31-2015 at 11:32 AM. |

It was midnight on Thursday, when I put everything together. No time to test drive it, so just a quick electronics check and it's done. Here ares some pics of the finished car from Erzberg ReconG6> |

Your friend can build one hell of a cage. And the Rav 4 body is very cool. Way to think outside of the box. Excellent execution. Good job on finishing a G6 too. That's a tall order. I am watching this one. |

The welding is not my work. I had it made by local guy. He is great. I have no idea what brand the body is, but i have never seen another one. The car worked great, wheelbase is 305mm and together with low stance it is very stable. |

So I stripped the scratched paint with brake fluid and put on different shade of ble, but it did not stick to the plastic, even though i used primer and washed the body well. Since I was in a hurry, i covered it with some stickers. I kinda like it that way. I also tested the servo winch, which works great. |

With new axles. Axial CVDs made strange sounds in full lock and throttle,so I used driveshafts made by local guy. The seem to work much better. |

I must say that you took a super ugly shell and turned it into a kick ass little trail rig. Great overall design |
