I'm going to make a couple of Styrene 'pods' on top of the sliders for a pair of 2S 1800 Nano-Tech batteries to run in parallel. There's plenty of space but my issue is that the body needs to be removed to swap/charge them.

Wondering if I could use an inline 3-way switch to have on-off-charge with an external mounting?

That is dilemma as well. I don't want to remove the body all the time either.

Got a battery tray sorted along with the wiring loom connecting the batteries in parallel, along with feeds for the steering servo and the Hey-OK winch controller

Also created a kill switch as there's no on/off switch in line

That is awesome! Nice job!

Maybe I'm missing it, but you could explain a little bit about how your body is mounted? I saw the one photo of the rear mount, but don't understand how it works.

Nope, it just 'stealth'!

There are four screws (two front, two back) that fit directly into mounting holes on the body - you can just make them out on the top down picture above with the batteries showing (either side of the servo and on the metal plate at the rear)
