Thanks man, I actually think Im going to cut the headlights out and put some functional buckets in. That way the lenses will be recessed a little and hopefully not look so toyish......

Got a few new goodies in the mail today..... A couple "scale" items. I got a proline non-functional winch and painted it to match the body like the 1:1 then I added a jerry can to the bed. But the biggest upgrade took some work to fit onto the axles since they werent designed for each other...... No pics of the process and no pics of the rear, but they are on there.........

Really liking this build!!!!
Can you post a couple pics with the body off?
Would like a better look at how you got the trans to clear the interior.

Sure thing. It isnt super pretty but the dark interior and trans parts blend to hide it pretty well...... In these pics you can also see the rear hinge style body mount (the front body mounts by sliding underneath the front bumper) as well as the inside of my cooler and toolbox in the bed that hide the rear shock towers....
Here, you can see the front bumper area. The scale body molding that is the front sway bar cover on the 1:1 slides under the bumper to secure the body.

Here is a closer shot of the body hinged open exposing the rear hinge at the back of the chassis. It is a stock axial chassis blockoff piece that would go where a bumper mounts if you dont run a bumper..... Cooler and toolbox insides also visible....

These show the body hinged open on the chassis. You can see the hole I cut in the floorboard to accommodate the transmission. I turned the skid around 180* to move the spur gear and case forward to preserve as much of the interior as possible.......

This is a shot of the chassis layout.... Crude but functional...

Interior Shots from both sides and rear window.....

Thanks guys. Last night after posting this I edited a video of us exploring Hawksbill Mtn in NC. I had to dub some music over the sound because of the wind noise and tourists talking about "All the beauty...." and my personal favorite "Im not going any closer to the edge than this, people F*cking die all the time...." lol...... anyway here is the link.

Got a package from RPP Hobby yesterday evening and got my new SSD D60s installed! What a great looking, inexpensive upgrade! A few more details and a little bodywork and I think this thing will have potential lol. Still waiting on my CMS/ Panhard kit to arrive but I think it looks great.

Man those look great. How was the swap? All stock swap or did you upgrade the internals for the D60?

All stock. Build was easy as pie. Didnt feel the need to upgrade anything because this is a fairly light build with smaller tires and doesnt see a LOT of abuse... It does get used but its not a basher....

I got my CMS/Panhard/3 Link set up today. Needs a little tweaking to make it perfect, like remaking the drag link and 3 link (I ran out of my go to link material lol) but it is as capable as before and way more scale. I like it a lot!
