Default RC4WD Blazer and Friends

Did you guys hear RC4WD came out with a hardbody K5 Blazer!?! It's awesome, 1/9 scale, has a ton of detail and loads of fancy parts. Follow along as I ruin a few of them.

Let's get silly.

Yes! Compared to a Vaterra Blazer. It's slightly smaller than the Vaterra but you know what? That's better. That one is too big. The RC4WD is a better scale, Hilux scale.

So many things and stuff. I hardly know what they all do.

The first tale begins with two Blazers.

That I mutilated...

But seriously, it's like they want you to cut them. There is even a faint line molded into the body on where to cut.

As you can see this one is going to be a K10 with a short bed. It's being built to fit my 13" long wheelbase leaf sprung Ascender chassis with SSD axles. It will be shared with a bunch of its big, strong American friends. Like this guy, my 75 International Harvester.

Heaven.

By now you are probably like "n0000000b, it's not a Tiyote!!! UR a idiot!" I love this generation of GM trucks. This is when they were great.

The second tale is about a K5, it's called Let's Get Muddy. SCX10 with GCM bits and some serious tread from RC4WD. SCX10 axles in the mail from imthatguy. Thanks Guy!

I hope you stick around and follow the adventures of these trucks. I also hope you get thoroughly confused as I jump back and forth between trucks.

Did you bond styrene to the blazer plastic ? If so, what was the bonding agent ?

Nice start, looking forward to following and seeing what develops with the muddy trucky thingy....

MEK will bond styrene to the body and the body to the body. It's not as strong as styrene to styrene but I really puddled it up and clamped it tight.

I was personally hoping for a super blazer - two hoods, four doors, two blazer suv bed storage area areas. I'm still pleased with what's going however.

May not be a Tiyote but at least it runs 6 lug wheels... well in foolsize world the 10 bolt/12 bolt axles blow so you lose anyway. Hopefully the build includes triple chrome roll bars and KC Daylighters! This is the body the Vaterra should have came with in the K10 shorty version.

You need to quite wacken up bodies.. Not good for your Health ....lol

And I thought it was going to be a suburban..

I too saw that line in the body..and the interior stops just at.. Then there's THAT GRAND CANYON GAPE.. Between it and the rear floor.. I didn't like that too much..

Nice lookin' turk, NOOB...

Maybe one day it can run behind my Dudge....
I don't have any MEK on hand, do you have any experience with using MEKP?
That's the catalyst in the fiberglass kits...
I use acetone on my 3D printed ABS parts for bonding/gluing.

P.S. if you could keep that snow up there where it belongs, we would appreciate it greatly. It is interfering with "winter" crawling...

Both beds in the rear or one in the front?

And 15 pairs of shocks.

I heard it was bad for my health to stop. Haven't even lined up the interior yet, I literally pulled the body out of the bag, took a pic or two and got the saw out!

Yeah, those are for my 1/2 ton International. I don't know what wheel/tire to run for the Chevy... Maybe some different wheels with the same tires.

No experience with MEKP. We don't have any snow at the moment. Upper 40's this weekend. Yay!

I'm really excited to see how this turns out. The one vehicle I regret selling the most was an 85 K10.
