Default Axial SCX10 II Toyota FJ40
Time to resurrect the rig that started it all.. my scx10 has sat for about a month or two, and has never quite been the way I like it.

First on my list is axles. I am going to switch to the new SSD Pro44 axles with aluminum tubes. I am also going to look into an SSD Scale SCX10 transmission

So now I have decided to go a different rout because I went to a hobby store and ended up spending my whole transmission fund so I am sticking to the old SCX transmission. Here's what I have so far (yes that's an AE-5)

I will LOOSELY be basing this build off of one of GenRight offroad's Jeep JKs using an ssd rock shield front and rear bumper closely resembling the GenRight JK front bumper.

Thanks for the subscription! I'm hoping fist get a gcm front trans mount, then get some of the new SSD pro44 housings and get the body last.

Ok. Whole new route. Time to resurrect this old thread! Instead of the jk I went with the RC4WD Toyota FJ40 on an SCX10 V1 chassis with V2 axles and hopefully ssd scale transmission.

Can you describe how you shorten the wheelbase? Buy all new 8 pieces short links ? If so, what is the total wheelbase now?Thank you

My plan is to buy a pair of Yota II axles and buy the link mount brackets and use the original links from my old scx10 with Rc4wd internal spring shocks. I am shooting for the body’s 10.85 inch wheelbase, but will probable get around 11 inches.

Morning Brother ThatJeeper2017, I am looking one good radio transmitter, may I know does this DX5C available for 3rd and 4th channel 3 position switch, made for DIG swith, winch, light or other custom function.? Thank you so much here

It has two 3 position switches on the grip, and also an extra one on the “steering column” where the trim switches are.

Sorry for the delay. Today I’m moving away from the painting for a while due to humidity and starting on the drivetrain. So far I have torn down, replaced and cleaned bearings and gears, and reassembled it after finding lots of rust. Here’s the torn down scx trans

Stupid me forgot to check my liquid masking job and smeared it all over the grill, so when it was done I peeled the mask and lost half the paint. After that, the paint was chipping because stupid me forgot to sand the grill, and now I have to sand, re mask it, lay down a coat of primer, and finally paint it.
