| Boom racing scx10 Steel Axle housing
Hi all, I know they are cheap and this is not a good sign about their quality, although I would like to ask wether anybody has had any experience with these axles.... I like the fact they are made out of steel but not confident with tolerances and quality in general (steel should slide better on rocks compared to an Alu axle for instance..) I would appreciate your inputs ! Thanks a lot |

I'm running them front and rear and am quite happy with them. In my opinion they are an amazing value. Fit and finish is quite good, they're basically just a direct copy of the stock Axial plastic housing. They're a great way to add 5 oz's to rig down low without increasing the rotational mass of your wheels. The steel does slide over rocks really nicely. The only negatives I could offer about them is that I had to shim my pinion with them (1 X 0.5mm) and my aluminum knuckles were an extremely tight fit - they need to be sanded or lightly ground inside to fit on without using a press or hammer. The other big down side to them? All your friends will be jealous that you've got such badass axle housings for so cheap. Last edited by QuesoDelDiablo; 05-12-2016 at 09:40 AM. |

BTW, do they have standard pinion bearing size or the increased outer diameter to host bigger bearing?
