Suzuki SideKick Okay, This was/is my First Crawler rig. I bought the body 5yrs ago since it was a Suzuki and I have a 1:1 Suzuki. 3yrs ago I found this sight and research for the best chassis to begin with. Started with a SCX-10 Dingo.. Sooo.. Shorten the front and rear chassis hang over.. (really short body) https://scontent.fsnc1-1.fna.fbcdn.n...d3&oe=5A0A83D2 painted it to match my 1:1. Wheeled it and working on adding more detail. First local Comp and scratched up the Fresh body but good times.. https://scontent.fsnc1-1.fna.fbcdn.n...17&oe=5A118645 Stripped the paint off of the windows and added Driver and Passenger. https://scontent.fsnc1-1.fna.fbcdn.n...04&oe=59C4C257 Phat Axles for lower COG. http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/l...psqc0z7a17.jpg SSD Brass Knuckles for more lower weight. http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/l...psc7t6yzmj.jpg Now working on lighting.. http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/l...pssuxp9qfo.jpg http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/l...psjpx77agn.jpg And taillights. http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/l...pskjd2vrpw.jpg Now working on side marker lights.. Now... What will be the best way to glue or screw the headlight buckets in?? This has been and will be a countinueing work in progress since I joined 3yrs ago.. :D |
Re: Suzuki SideKick This is how I did the headlights.. A axial light bucket set glued together with some extra Flat stock. https://scontent.fsnc1-1.fna.fbcdn.n...26&oe=59FFED79 https://scontent.fsnc1-1.fna.fbcdn.n...7b&oe=59C32A76 I think this is matching my 1:1 pretty well soo far. https://scontent.fsnc1-1.fna.fbcdn.n...d3&oe=59C99B75 |
Re: Suzuki SideKick I'd use shoe goo for attaching the lights? Hey, did you have any issues mounting the pit bulls on those wheels? Sent from my MotoE2(4G-LTE) using Tapatalk |
Re: Suzuki SideKick i dig it. want better cog ditch the axial seats for some dinky cheap seats. you will lose a TON of weight. |

eye on the bead.. I used superGlue to glue the lights together.. I'm not sure how Shoe Goo will show thru the lenses.. Still thinking.. Quote:

The More SideKicks the better I say.. :D That looks unstoppable. Great looking Paint job too. |
Re: Suzuki SideKick got the headlights mounted and on. :D Will need to hide the screws or glue them in and remove the screws later. I will need to reshape the drivers side headlight, it just doesn't look right. http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/l...pscxdgdchu.jpg http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/l...psby0ifzso.jpg This one will always be a continuing build.. :D |
Re: Suzuki SideKick I don't remember the light kit I bought but... It came with 6 3mm red lights for the rear, 4 amber 3mm and 2 5mm clear for the front. I had to double up the 3m red for the taillights since I only had 4 spots available on the 1:1. http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/l...psd4uoykr8.jpg Had to make a Wedge for the headlights so they didn't point upwards once installed.. http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/l...ps4qkwbmr1.jpg |
Re: Suzuki SideKick Light kit fits the truck perfect, if you ever remember were you got it let me know cause I would like to get a set for my truck. "GOD SPEED" |

In the Mean time, screws will help hold it tight till I'm ready for gluing.. One minor issue I found.. headlight buckets and inner fenders don't quit get along. Had to do some trimming and will find a way to pretty it up.. :) https://scontent.fsnc1-1.fna.fbcdn.n...58&oe=59F6DC0D I hope the tires will clear the headlight buckets..:O That Grill decal will have to go next..;) Little light test drive in the Kitchen.. :D https://scontent.fsnc1-1.fna.fbcdn.n...6b&oe=59C807E3 |
Re: Suzuki SideKick Minor things I have ran into.. I need a good tire in the 4"inch tall range and a good front Bumper that is 6"inches wide.. And... A way to narrow the Track width from 9"inch to 7.5 would be Frinkin Awesome. :D Too wide for scale I say. backyard test run.. http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/l...ps83r6epzl.jpg |
Re: Suzuki SideKick Not a big deal by most but i found some side mirrors that look about right.. Minor modification and are screwed to the body and added a washer. Hopefully it doesn't get torn off or hold me up. Mirror set. https://scontent.fsnc1-1.fna.fbcdn.n...23&oe=5A0A3200 Looks like this headlight needs some more work on Positioning. I'll get right on that. I just fill the screw hole with some extra Plastic and drill new mount hole.. http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/l...psvvnvpold.jpg This is kind've a big deal for me since I Rarely (never) put side mirrors on the model kits i build.. ;) |
