Thanks, I appreciate that. It's been a fun and definitely a challenging build

The body is all done and what a nightmare. Normally i don't have any problems painting stuff, especially an easy paint job. Everything come out perfect until it came to laying down the flat black. I like to use Tamiya paints because i've never had any problems and they always lay down nice and smooth. Not this time. The flat black sprayed out nice and smooth, but dried like "scale bedliner". I wasn't happy with this so i sanded it smooth and tried a completely different can. It happened again. So i just went with it. Next i wanted to add some color to the body. I masked off the area on the front "hood" where the two recessed areas are and painted them green. Some how my paint bleed under the tape. So pissed. I said ok, i'll pin stripe it in a nice metallic silver. At this point it was late and i was alittle tired. I didn't realize what i did before it was too late. I was using paint for lexan bodies and it started eating the plastic body. I caught the mistake before it got too bad. I sanded that all smooth again and shot the entire body again with flat black. I decided to just sticker the body instead of using green accents. This is what i came up with.

Happy almost Halloween. The Monster is alive!!!!!! I took her out for the first real shake down run and it preformed better than expected. I wasn't sure how it would do with the battery basically over the rear axle. I thought it would just wheelie all the time and not have much steering. But i was wrong. I took it easy for the first time, no real crazy hill climbs or difficult stuff yet. Just wanted to get a feel for it. Its almost done, just need to finish up the lighting, headlights and roof light bar. I just couldn't wait to drive it anymore. Now for the pics.

Action photos

And stuck!

Maybe i'll try to get a video next time. I'm overall pretty happy how everything turned out. Performance and looks. What do you guys think?

I'm sorry about the "paint-in-the-a**" (hope you get the joke), but I love the final result! Scorcher's bodies are perfect everywhere in my opinion good job!

Had some time today to take this thing out and throw some sand around. It hasn't had much use lately but the weather today was perfect at the beach. Thanks to photobucket all my previous pics are now gone. So here are some new ones.

And made it!

That's cool! I didn't get to see the original build thread or pics, glad you updated! Don't get to see many bugs...this is killer with the V8.

Took the bug out for some snow fun today! Well, it was more like a sheet of ice from the crazy warm and cold we keep getting.

Made my first video on youtube of this thing. Nothing fancy, just having some fun. Kinda funny the camera falls over right at the end.

Took the Bug out for a spin the other weekend before we got the cold weather and snow. Not too many pics this time, having too much fun.

Getting ready for a hill climb, doesn't look like much in the pic but it's a decent hill and fun to test out the trucks.

A couple short videos.

A small update, new tires! I decided to try out some Proline bfg's. The others just seem too aggressive for driving in sand. They seem to dig in more than move the bug forward. Maybe these will stay on top of the sand.

Plus these look at ton better. A bit taller, skinnier and fill out the wheel wells. Looks like i'm running 37" tires, haha.

I'll be trying these out in the snow long before the sand. We just got dumped on.

Such a great build the new tires look perfect. Might need some paddle tires for all the snow we just got would also work great in the sand. Nice work.

I've always liked this build. One of the best bug builds out there.
