Default Mighty FC Concept hardbody

Been at this one for a little while and i thought id post a thread over here about it. Anyway, Ive got a couple of G6`s coming up and since I sold everything I needed to build something to run! I didnt even like the FC until I saw the topless look it has now so thats what I will be doing. Going to run Gmade R1 portals under this thing to match the 1:1 anyway im still wokring on the body.

Are you only basing the design on a couple photos or do you have measurements to scale down?

Either way, very impressive!

To be perfectly honest I just print out a bunch of pictures and do things until they look right - thank you!

Thanks! I really appreciate it!

so this rig has to have trail doors - has to! I lack brazing skills so I got busy on making something that I could JB weld together and it looked craptastic

IMG_7104 by sgtbforza, on Flickr

So I guess I need to learn how to braze - this is where I ended up

So onto the boring stuff, you know actually building the truck

didnt even bother with the gmade bearings I just assembled with lockedup RC bearings

IMG_1487 by sgtbforza, on Flickr

Used a trick I found on here to use RC4wd K44 XVDs as the short axle shafts ( GMade R1 Axle Shaft to XVD mod ) had to drill out the shiny new aluminum chubs I bought to make it happen

IMG_1489 by sgtbforza, on Flickr

IMG_1490 by sgtbforza, on Flickr

Had to modify the shafts themselves by quite a bit

IMG_1491 by sgtbforza, on Flickr

and here we are - still need to notch the chubs for more steering and the whole thing seems wide...may have to narrow

So these axles looked every bit as ridiculous as I feared they would

IMG_2597 by sgtbforza, on Flickr

So I bought some brass tubing and got busy

IMG_0455 by sgtbforza, on Flickr

IMG_4072 by sgtbforza, on Flickr

I totally trust the epoxy but i tossed some mechanical spanners in just in case

IMG_6540 by sgtbforza, on Flickr

Im very happy with the new width!

had a little time to work on this over the weekend, so i knocked a few things out - first up was the bumper. I took an RC4WD rampage bumper and hacked up the back, filled a few holes, and made a few new holes - the end result isnt perfect but its close enough to make me happy!

IMG_1897 by sgtbforza, on Flickr

Then it was onto the boring stuff that takes me forever like the suspension. All of my work on these axles has really paid off, the steering after a few mods is more than enough!

IMG_2858 by sgtbforza, on Flickr

IMG_4755 by sgtbforza, on Flickr

So here we are, standing up on its own, 3 link up front all worked out, and bumper mounted (dont worry, cage is just sitting there). At first I wasnt happy with the stance but the more i look at it the more i think its spot on!

IMG_8500 by sgtbforza, on Flickr

I have also landed on a color, this rig is weird sometimes it looks blue gray and sometimes it looks baby blue it just depends on the picture you happen to be looking at and I prefer the gray. So I decided to use "Anvil" I ordered some paint thats actually from mopar so it should look just like this but ya know.... not a renegade
