I'm going to install the RC4WD Teraflex shackles and z boxes to help with articulation, once everything is finished and tested. Hope that works out because I want this truck to be lifted with longer shocks. |

If you are interested in this kit I found a seller currently selling some on Ebay for $529, shipped from Wisconsin. That's almost $100 less than I paid. .....may not last long. (I'm not affiliated.) Cross RC HC4 1 10 4x4 Scale Off Road Truck Rock Crawler Kit Like Axial Ascender | eBay |

Great looking kit, can't wait to see the rest of your build and yes looks like 2 1/2 6x6 with bobbed rear, great classic lines. Axles look pretty nice too. Edit: Can't you use acetone/MEK or something else to glue the bed together? |

When I first saw this picture on page 29 of the manual I didn't understand it. Trying to test fit the body on the chassis, it became clear; the shifting servo for the 2 speed transmission hits the underside of the passenger seat and their solution is to cut part of the seat out. That's not happening. I'm going to order a low profile servo and see if it will work. Otherwise, mine will be a single speed, which is fine by me - less complicated and fewer moving parts to fail over time. |

I assembled the rear wheels with the Rock Crushers, but I put the wheel hex section the other way around. This way the center hub is in a deeper wheel and the whole thing will stick out farther than the stock configuration is supposed to work. The center hub has a section that presses into place and is held there with the friction of a rubber o-ring. Simple, neat design for a scale truck. |

For the front wheels I'm going to try these. They are made for a Ural, but I found pics and a video of a bobbed deuce with similar wheels on the front. These are coming from China, so I'll have to wait another week or more before I can paint and install them. |

I've had this smoke unit for almost a year now and this is the perfect truck to install it in. The assembled exhaust stacks are hollow enough that I can blow air through them so I'll give it a try. The sound unit I have has one diesel sound, but unfortunately it won't have the classic deuce whistle from the turbo...if I can shoehorn the thing in there. Still pretty cool. Went by Hobby Lobby today and bought this stuff. Cost $20, so it had better work! Also bought this because it's too cool, just like me. |

I got all of the scale hardware installed, along with the Revolver shackles and z-boxes. I had to drill new holes and remove some of the lower C channel frame, since these were made for the solid frame rails of a TF2. I'm using Gelande II shocks to raise the chassis, so I had to install longer driveshafts. Everything seems to be working well. Once the chassis was done I painted EVERYTHING, lol. Same self etching primer as the body. Rust and weathering is next. |

All of your rigs I have seen look top notch, but you have outdone yourself this time. This is looking awesome! And...I swore you said you didn't know how to paint, or was that what the wife said? I can't recall lol. One day I will drag you with me to an East Texas Comp since I am too chicken to go it alone on my first failure...err...competition. |

The interior floor is very shallow, so I removed the driver's side floorboard and made a deeper one with Styrene so I wouldn't have to cut the legs off of my driver. |
