Default Amazing D130 Body

This is too cool to keep to myself. I stumbled across it on Ebay this afternoon and immediately bought one for myself. The price seems high until you consider that to get a D130 body you'd have to combine two D90 bodies or modify a D110 body, both of which would require quite a bit of Styrene work.

I had been contemplating a build with a similar body, but when this one popped up any indecision went out the window. This D130 body has opening doors, opening hood, recessed fuel filler, folding mirrors, and really good detail, but the best part is the interior. Just being able to paint individual parts before assembly is worth the price tag to me.

Where has this been all my life?!

Sweet looking kit but the price tag...yowwie! Still would be nice to have the longer chassis for the extra room for placement of gadgets.

AsiaTees has them for preorder also.

$195 plus whatever shipping for a big ass body costs.

Crap. Where were you yesterday, svt923?! Oh well, after currency conversion and shipping the one on the Asia Tees site is $83 less than I paid. That's what I get for being a pioneer.

It's still awesome.

It takes a lot for me to get sticker shock now in this hobby, but this body takes the cake. For that same price I bought a lightly used wraith cage with BGR LCG fastback, bumper and sliders, plus "new" VP links a barely used PL jeep body and big bore shocks with mini-t springs and cups. Cool, a D130, but not for me.

Nothing wrong with that. I'm so into what I consider true to scale trucks that the thought of buying a Wraith, at any cost, makes me want to vomit.

It takes all kinds to make the world go around.

I believe both are 110 DCPU, not 130.

For a Defender fan, like myself, this is indeed very intriguing...

But since these bodies are a bit larger than the RC4WD Defender, the normal roofracks/exocages won't fit, maybe not even most bumpers - and I certainly don't have the skill or the tools, to create those myself.
Also I wonder if I'd need different rims than with the RC4WD body, to make the tires look right...
But I doubt I can't resist that beautiful detailed body for long, nevertheless...

They indeed don't fit. Learned the "hard" way.
Asiatees, rcmart etc offer a complete "D110" chassis which doesn't even fit (I guess it was originally made for the rc4wd D110).
You have to order their specially made extended chassis for this body, since it is half an inch longer and yes, wider too. Unless you want to fab your own extensions. I went ahead and ordered their matching chassis and swap the axles, drivetrain and suspension. Wheelbase is the same, so no new links needed.

I end up with a complete D110 and a rc4wd length D110 chassis wich will actually come in handy for my rc4wd Blazer based Fall Guy truck and still spent less than on the rc4wd D110. Hope to open up a thread as soon as I start building

Here is a quick photo of the "wrong" chassis:

At least some shops warn you about that - sadly not all of them do.
