Would you not want the originals in the front? If your trying to achieve the over under gearing you would need the smaller tire in the front to spin faster and the larger rear to spin slower? Correct.

| Re: Bugs Buggy Umm.... I put it on the rocks in its current form Thursday for 5 minutes, realized I needed to change up my geometry and add a few forward bias ounces. Made those changes and dropped it on the courses Saturday morning... Rig was great, stable and very predictable, driver was distracted and running around with his head cut off, keeping event running, answering questions, thinking ahead for the rest of the event... (excuses, I know) I ended up 26th out of 80 plus drivers, finished all courses. It was a gate and go situation a lot of the times. A few more tweaks to it, add OD, possible a few more geometry changes due to the slant skid and higher link mounting points of the lower rear links on the portal axles and some tire/foam tuning and it will be a winner. The portal axles are beef, put them in a bind more than once and they didn't even squawk. Glad I made the decision to use them All in all I am very happy with the truck. How was/is your trip going ? Tired of all the wine yet lol |

As for my trip, it was great! Drove way too many kilometers, ate way too much food, saw way too many old buildings/churches in way too many cities filled with way too many people and was tired of way too much "whine" about walking too much. Lol | |

Yes, I never felt it didnt turn sharp enough, although a proper overdrive t-case is in the works so I can run the same size tires front and rear and also achieve the OD ratio I want for verticle climbs. On another note, the chubs have built in camber so when you clock them to increase your caster you have a better contact patch at full lock. Found that to be interesting!!! |

Finally had the time to work on the OD. I was going to use a toyzuki proto OD transfer-case but this was handy. It will have a large split between the 2 axles.... time and testing will tell lol. There is a plan B if needed. T-case is attached to the front output of the transmission and then connected to the front axle only. The rear output of the transmission goes directly to the rear axle as normal. |
