Default Bugs Buggy with Portals

Starting a new build, going with another VW Baja
I am going to use one of these bodies, maybe a combo of each.the Tamiya blitzer beetle or Kamtec baja.
Right now I am leaning towards using the Kamtec roof, hood and rear deck. Then grafting the Tamiya doors and quarters into the mix. I have 2 of each so I can stretch it out to a 12ish" wheelbase.

Started with a axial chassis and did a little cut and chop to turn it into a toyzukial chassis This chassis was on my 2009 msd baja, i love repurposing stuff

Hey another v-dub! Can't wait to see how this shapes up. I'm sticking with the short wheelbase and I'm finding that it's tough to keep all the goodies under that little body.

Curries with a toyzuki motor mount that is flipped to put the motor on the other side. The axles have creation fab delrin tubes for a narrow xr mod, also a custom 3 link mount for the flipped motor mount that warpig helped me with. The skid is a 3d print by a local member that is designed for the toyzuki frame rails. I had him print it to fit in a scx chassis for this build.

I need to cut, weld and raise the chassis a bit more as the rise in the front is not tall enough to maintain a sprung stance.

It sure is, love your build it inspired me to put the box build on hold and move forward with this one. This is my 5th or 6th bug build, I have a few different ideas for this one. Time will tell if they will work as planned or not.

Inspiration for this build comes from this rig. Built by rocksolid on here.

Damn this is gonna be badass! All of these bug builds are killer. You've got an impressive pile of parts and the skills to put 'em together properly. Can't wait to see it.
