Hey Nate, I will get back to it this week, I have been working on a new steering for the losi guys. I can't call it XR10 steering because there's nothing XR in the new design! I will have something to show later this week.

Thanks DrewHammer, I'm not sure if I'm going to mold it into the hood, or just attach it.

I walked past a box of bodies I had set aside to sell some day. Hey, a New Bright 16 scale jeep!! I took it to the band saw and started cutting.

Well, it might work?

To wide, so I cut 3/8" out of the center. Built up the nose with a couple small pieces of styrene and shaped it a little. I'm pretty sure that is how Scott would do it!

A little black hammer paint, (after about 4 coats of sandable primer), "primer on, primer off."

Screen in front of the air intake.

More to come later, thanks for looking!

BRILLIANT! That looks awesome Ernie. Love re-purposing parts, entire build is loaded with cool ideas and engineering.

Looking good Ernie! Very clever idea with the hood scoop, and it looks great.

As always your builds never disappoint.

Thanks, trying to put my own spin on this build with repurposing some parts. I should have pics of some cage work posted tomorrow.

I had time today to work on the cage for my jeep. I'm going for a two seater look.

Now to start making it my own!

I use a DIY tubing bender, that makes it easy to duplicate and mirror bends.

Thanks for looking.

I put in a little time in on the cage today I think the tube work is done?

I thought side rails might work for a two seater.

I think tube doors will be next, thanks for looking.

Hey Doc, thanks for the perk, I know some guys don't like my cages because the are not a traditional 1:1 cage. I like putting my own spin on them.

Hey a Merry Christmas to all of you out there, and hope your New Year brings you many great surprises.
Keep passing it forward.
Ernie

It's been a few days, and had a time in the last couple days to work on the tube doors. I think Bud likes them!

Yes, they do open and close. I really had to work to get the hinges right. they could be better but they function. The little pin attaches to magnets on the inside of the body.

The sliders will be next, maybe a couple Gullwing sliders??
Thanks for looking!

Ernie, have you considered sending the cage out and having it chromed? All that tube work would really pop with some chrome shining in the sun
Of course I've always been a chrome junky and think everything looks good chromed lol.

The cage is stainless steel, and I think I'm going to polish it out! So I was kind of thinking on the same lines as you Jon.

I had a little time this week to work on Buds rig, so here are the sliders I came up with. Trying to stay with the theme of the cage!

Pluto seems to like them.

Thanks for looking guys, now back to the Losi axle mod!
