Default Everest 16 custom scale build

So first off im a first time poster so i apologize if i do something wrong lol. Been a long time rc enthusiest including working at my lfs before it was shut down.Im waiting on my everest 16 to show up. Ive decided i want to do a budget build scale crawler. I have been searching for the past two weeks and can not find any good custom builds for this crawler. Right now im trying to decide on the body. I already know im building a custom chassis out of either aluminum or brass. Ive already worked with brass doing a custom cage and motor stand on a home made airboat and it was very strong. Itll depend on pricing. My biggest hurdle right now is going to be body and wheel base. Any feedback is welcome as well as ideas for bodies. The crawler has a 225mm wheelbase right now so if i want to go 10th scale, ill have to strech it 88mm. Havent found a good body in 14th ish scale yet. Crawler will show up on wednesday and ill start the build. Let me know if im making any mistakes already haha

Check out tamiya bodies, they have great detail and about 1/12 scale which will be a good match for the everest 16 axles.

Actually there are lots of builds and info on these rigs. Look in the mini crawler section in the exceed maxstone 1/16 thread. I have a thread on my foff jeep built on Everest 1/16 axles running 4s, overdrive in the front all the goodies!

That was basically why i got it. I can gut it and just build my own chassis and body and use all the other parts for under 100$. It seemed reasonably cheap. I see these guys dropping hundreds and even in the $1000+ range for the realistic trucks. 2 kids hinder my finances from doing that haha

And these axles can be tough as hell for dirt cheap. Here's one of my builds.

Yea i saw that build yesterday. I like the paddles. They're always good for slingin some mud or dirt. I might try making the body out of styrene. Just concerned with structural capabilities as a crawlee

Well it finally showed up along with my new blackjack 9. Unboxed, charged, and hit some wooded hills to try her out. Crawls as expected, tobs of torque roll and not quite as much speed as i was expecting. I know crawlings not about the speed but sometimes wheel speed helps ya in a shitty situation so might upgrade motor to a mamba just to try it

Other than the battery cover missing and the broken antenna, its still as great as ever. My next radio will be a 4 as well

Alright. Well not much going on yet. Been a bit broke from christmas so waiting on pay day to get the ball rolling. Ive found the body im gonna use. Its about 3/4 of an inch too ling for wheel base so im gonna build a new ladder frame from scratch and extend the center so my mount points for the 4 link make up for the difference. I decided to draw this up on my phone today at work since we are slow. Let me know if you see a design flaw

this is the donor body im going with
