Nothing really just a little OCD Lol. A little tight in frame rails but fits great.

Just don't want to make it too loose. Being tight in the rails helps take any tilt pressures off of the mounting screws. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk | |

Just tight nothing a file to smooth it out won't fix and take the square edge off a tad where it fits in the frame since its a c-channel frame rail and not squared. Just a tiny finish work on a custom part for custom build. Nothing I wasn't expecting really. I was super stoked the 3 mm holes were tapped. I'm very happy with it. And a thanks again. Now I get to build some links.

Found some vintage tamiya ford ranger clear windows. At the moment I'm the highest bidder. Lol crazy price but rare and look better than tinted.

Looks like it's coming along, looking forward to seeing the flat bed on this.

Thanks chino and thanks for the tip on the bumper trimming. I need to practice my brazing before I build the flatbed. I still have a long way to go but its getting there. |

No never brazed yet lol. My plan is to make a tube frame for the bed then plate with aluminum sheet I picked up. To help keep weight down.

Aluminum brazing doesn't seem to bad. It'll just boil down to which material you'd rather work with, aluminum or brass. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk |

Ready to build some links. Bought some new rod end only enough for links ill get more for steering later. A 8-32 tap a tool I been needing and a standard metric tap and die set 3 mm-7mm something else I've been needing. Also bought some new plastic scx10 shock hoops. Hope I get the clearance I think with them to help mount my trans in the frame rails and get motor clearance too. |

Made some progress late last night. Bumper and stock fenders No bumper and trimmed fenders Tire fitment is better now Stock is a little restrictive Trying some bed design and chopped the front bumper for the rear. For mock up looks. Last edited by hillbillyrc; 05-05-2018 at 01:56 PM. |

I made a card stock flatbed last night. No pics yet ill get some so I can get some input/ opinions on it. Also swapped the 80 mm rc4wd shocks I have to the rear with a single spring instead of the dual spring they came with a bit softer but I'm going to get assortment of mini t springs to play with. I have some plastic big bores 2 in 90mm and 2 in 100 mm. Going to run the 90mm in front. Going to make a lift kit for the rear to get on some plane as the front. Got my links figured out. Now the question is should I xr mod my Everest axle or just get some clockable axial c-hubs? Last edited by hillbillyrc; 05-21-2018 at 03:57 PM. |

Here is the small lift kit I made for the rear. Then braced the shocks with 2 mm spacers on each side and a axial 70 mm link Full on roller! It been awhile since its sat like this. Chassis shot of my baroncho. I used scx10 shock hoops front and rears. 90mm shocks front 80 mm rear w/ small lift kit. The front shock hoop might get flipped to help with room of the R2 and motor. Rough layout of some moving bits and pieces. |

Yeah something simple. A roll bar with two kick downs. The card stock is my templet for some sheet aluminum I picked up. I used a razor blade to trim the fenders didn't want to use a dermal. |

Looks great hillbilly. Aluminum is much harder to braze than steel or brass. The problem is the melting point of the rod is very close to the melting point of the tube. The other issue is the aluminum tubing gets quite a bit softer once heated and cooled. However it is very light weight and looks great once done... I built a rig very similar to yours, using a Blackfoot extreme. Tons of fun, and my intro into lipo's Cannot find any pictures of it due to the Photobucket issue... |

I've probably seen it. I think I have looked at all the Blackfoot build on the interweb. The roll bar and other tube work will be made of 3/16 brakeline. The aluminum will be just the bed panels. I think on page 4 I posted some pics of 1:1 flatbeds I've saved for ideas. Going have to find a tcs or Lowe's tool box to mount between the cab and shocks. |
