halfcab, that's the plan. I have 50,000mcd white LEDs to go in for headlights and off-road lights on the rack. Also need to convert the rear LEDs to be tail lights and install brake and reverse lights.

run2jeepn, check out post #9.

Rizzo, the XC type chassis can be built at 9.5" or a 10.5" wheelbase. This one is built at 9.5". It's not dead-nuts perfect but it's under there. I'd like to extend the rear links about 3/16" or so to get the rear tires centered in the wheelwells.

...and the dirty spare is from the old F-150 from '98.
I must have skipped over that. Couple of good things in Post #9..Ooops. Thanks

Brian's rig absolutely impressed me with how insanely simple it was and how good it looked. No complicated building, no headache.

Just a nice, clean-looking rig.

Mine will be a bit meatier when done.

Default I've got a Touareg on the way too.

Looks like it's going to be a fun truck. I've found a few interesting things while researching the chassis:

http://www.bauteil1.com/xc_untersetzungsgetriebe.htm
http://www.bauteil1.com/xc_lenkung.htm

And the best one:
http://www.bauteil1.com/Karosse_Pajero.htm (I'm not a big fan of the Touareg body.)

Does anyone know what Tamiya model the front suspension is from? I want to go ahead and start ordering some aluminum parts. I think its the same as the TA-02, but I don't have the manual yet to confirm it.

The XC front suspension is unique to the XC. The knuckles might be shared with another vehicle, but I don't know which one. It uses 6x12 bearings up front rather than the usual Tamiya 5x11's.

If you wanna blow the budget, check out RC4WD's aluminum XC rear axle

Have you got a link to it? I looked on the site and can't find it anywhere.

I spent a little time tonight installing LEDs.

Also removed the stock roof rack and repaired the damage it suffered from shipping.

Maybe I'll get some shots tomorrow night.

As always, very nice, and the Mater Rig rocks, may have to build one for my daughter....LOL

The CC-01/XC platforms are a nice, no fuss, platform, it is nice to just find a body and hit the trails, but I'm sure Jason will take it to the next level.

I have two myself, a Unimog and a Rally Cayenne and I really like them both and for the price you can't beat em.

Jason, good work on the XC and some fine work on the Mator rig. Will it be attending the next Augusta GTG?
