Samurai SJ413 All Photos are back up again IMAGES..https://postimg.cc/gallery/2biuiezz4/ or this might work Photobucket fix https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...bifiaedg?hl=en Hi Guys My name is Rice and I have been into Samurais for about 16 years, decided an RC version would be awesome, unfortunately they do not exist as a hard body,so I'm making my own. I have never built anything this large before (1:7) but will give it a go. Plan on using a TF2 swb for the chassis. I will try to copy my latest Zook, toyota axles,1.9TDI,33's,and removable hardtop. |

Re: Samurai SJ413 http://i484.photobucket.com/albums/r...psz2cpookl.jpg Daniel Charles 3d prints the zuki in any scale you want. Hit him up on FB if you want.i had mi e pri ted in yellow abs for 2 reasons. First I could use solvent welding as pla doesnt like that and second I am painting it yellow and printed in yellow will keep it looking sharp for a longer period. Missi g from the pic is the doors, fender flares and bumpers. Those all come with the kit. It is about 30 pieces, you will need to assemble. He will do it for you but uses CA. I prefer solvent welds. Looks like you are off to a great start"thumbsup" |
Thanx Hotwheels000 Good to know there are a few options out there. |

Re: Samurai SJ413 Very nice work, keep posting! "thumbsup" |
After viewing some of your builds I appreciate your comment Chino63. I've done a bit of milling myself, made a new drivers side tranny mount to get the tranny a little lower(about 4mm) and clocked the motor one turn. https://s19.postimg.cc/o949b6q1f/P1690198.jpg https://s19.postimg.cc/w1ux3214j/P1690240.jpg https://s19.postimg.cc/oyn1nfnz7/P1690242.jpg Also made a new cross member for the shocks. https://s19.postimg.c/o949b3xqb/P1690243.jpg I didn't have the right size drive lines so I made some extenders,I know all I've done is made the U-joint angles worse but I'm cheap and they will have to do for now.Plus I just like making things... still need to drill and tap them. https://s19.postimg.cc/ua1y852c3/P1690247.jpg |
Re: Samurai SJ413 Body and Dash are looking Great. Nice work. |
Re: Samurai SJ413 excellent work |
Thanx Guys,Much Appreciated. Looked around for some pre-made seats but none were the right size. So I took a piece of 1 1/2" (38mm) rigid insulation foam and after 2 attempts,I had 1 seat.I think I'm going to make a mold and resin cast them. I think that will be easier than trying to duplicate another lol. https://s19.postimg.cc/b7o3259kj/seat1.jpg https://s19.postimg.cc/k2oxcnixf/seat2.jpg Detailed the seat out, happy with it now. https://s19.postimg.cc/xakmufh6r/Seat3.jpg ...and started on the heater unit. https://s19.postimg.cc/8hb2tqvlf/Heater.jpg |
Re: Samurai SJ413 Started working on the rear wheel wells. Made a wood "buck" to heat and bend the top piece around. https://s19.postimg.cc/k0r57852b/P1690271.jpg https://s19.postimg.cc/8oejpfgxv/P1690273.jpg Glued up the sides and trimmed, left a flange above the opening for more glue surface. https://s19.postimg.cc/54slzn1df/P1690274.jpg Placed in the bed for test fit.Still need to bend and glue a 1/4" piece on the inside corner so it can be rounded over. https://s19.postimg.cc/cxj9rn9xf/P1690276.jpg https://s19.postimg.cc/6wlkukflf/P1690278.jpg |

Re: Samurai SJ413 it's funny just a couple days ago I was thinking that when I tackle my first from scratch build I'd love to do a hard top samurai...I've had a real soft spot for a Samurai and I'm not sure why I've just always loved the look of them when they are tastefully lifted a bit with some mud tires under them. Anyway I love how everything has turned out on yours, it's definitely given me some inspiration for when I go to start mine!! |
