Default 1.9 Defender 90 tray back.

Some may have seen my other thread where I'm building a Defender 90 on an Ascender chassis. That is still progressing slowly but pretty much is down to new rear shock towers and body mounts...

So I thought I'd share this project as well...
Axial chassis rails, a home built cage, some rather nice Vanquish axles and a few other bits. Having a go at a forward mounted motor and trans case..

This is the inspiration:

Possible reason for slow progress?

T case has arrived, shock towers may well be binned in favour of my own. And the whole thing needs to sit lower- shocks far too firm at the moment. But progress is being made...

This is a very cool start. I can't wait to see it progress.

Long weekend, so a bit of chassis work to come and then Tuesday weld the last bits of the frame up. Motor is sort of mocked up, just need a short shaft for it!

Must sit lower, hence the cuts. Will be boxed over with a power bulge of some description...

Quick easy motor mount.

Tranny case. (Better input shaft needed!!)

Servo in.

Just a little rub at full lock and compression, I can live with that. Slightly less diameter tyres will fix that in the future....

The boom shocks are no more, on account of bieng a bit crap.
