That turned out really well. I never considered the Sawback chassis for a Blazer build. The front mounted motor/T-case setup is slick! |

This rig is awesome. How did you shorten the wheel base so much?

O_o ... Someone is taking his scaling really, réally serious. The pictures in tne snow, with the yota next to it, made me take a double look. All of it looks só scale, and the snow kinda removes the size references, so I thought that they were the real thing. I also love those campfire pics. What struck me most is the almost gel-coating looking external paintjob of Your rig. Absolutely perfect! By the by, is there a build thread somewhere of that gorgeous Red Bull racing truck? Where did you find the 40mm shocks? I'm not finding anything smaller than 60mm. Your truck looks amazing! I found a cheap Komodo frame, and now your post has me wanting to build something similar. My grandparents had a square body Suburban when I was a kid. I may try to adapt the paint scheme as close as I can on the Blazer. Theirs was a later one with quad headlights that mimicked the '88-'98 K1500 before the SUVs changed to that platform in '92. The front fenders, grille, and 2-tone paint would look a bit different, but it would still be fun to do it.

Hi. Thanks! I’ve used rc4wd 40mm shocks. Honestly, they’re cheap crap, ball ends try to escape so I used two washers both sides of every mounting point. I suggest you take a look at tamiya truck shocks, say part number 56515, they’re seems to be the same length and should perform much better. |

Your build inspired me to make something similar. I've got the chassis mostly built, but I need to make the mounting plates for the transmission and transfer case, along with the body mounts. I really enjoyed seeing this one come together. Thanks for the ideas!
