Default Sawback blazer build

I've never had a leaf spring setup so when I saw a sawback kit on a very competitive offer, it was immediately ordered.

Then I thougt that 8th scale willis is not what I actually want for the rig so I ordered blazer body and transmission started to become front mounted:

Body fit

I like it. It looks like the wheelbase is perfect.

Perfect fit. That's why I've chosen blazer. There will be some issues with mounting it to the chassis and matching wheelbase, but it's more interesting than just put it on trailfinder

Wow that looks great! Did the wheelbase line right up?

I've been wanting to do a front motor Sawback. I have a different idea, but yours will work too. Nice!

Thanks! Yep, 287mm both, no need to modify anything in arches unless you want to pop in some 120mm wheels)

Let's move on
I've cut brackets for the transfer cases and servo, rear body flip-mount, welded rock sliders and made threaded side mounts

Painted all black

Truck was going to be heavy, so I ordered new shocks

Missing driveshafts came in and the roller was finished

Bodywork will follow. Stay tuned

White and yellow...I wanna call this the egg. It looks great! The paint looks perfectly smooth! The dash looks good too. We're all hardest on ourselves.

Now I want to see some video if it crawling with that front motor.

Yelk is fitting!

Nice video. Judging from that it looks like this truck will be really capable.

Plates

I thought that Michigan plates will be the best for it. First, K5s were assembled there, second - I just like combination of blue and white.

So, here they are, made of milled aluminum

Then comes the detailing. So many nervs have gone..

And the result. It definately worth it!

4wheeling in white
