| Klampyz Tundra truggy named Burnie
Edit: pics start in post 14 Hi forum. It's been a while since i put up a decent build. swapped a china JK for a front half tundra body. build list looks like this so far. HSP front alloy upgrade diff housing. stock plastic arms (200mm) custom uppers Axial HD gears HSP universals + alloy upgaded knuckles (coming) junfac shafts JAzzrider scx10 trans housing with steel gears Jazzrider alloy center skid SSD rear axle housing, Axial HD gears Frankenstien Wraith/HPI shocks (not even sure whats inside them anymore) VP copy 1.9 8holes Pitbull 1.55 growlers with custom foams im sure theres more, but heres some photos. havent made supports for the front skid yet, its only attached at the top> thinking about running a front mount motor, inside a 3d printed V8 coz why not... just need to source another HPI GRU first... Reconfigured the front end tonight. Added some more metal and a servo. Plus extended the rear wheelbase and added some shocks. (that need changing/adjusting) Here's some pics I modified the hsp front strut tower to become the new servo mount. Much solid. More metal, under the diff is a new metal brace to hold the arms. Did end up moving the shock tower back Need to drill new holes in knuckles for zero Ackerman. |

Been away all week but made some progress tonight. Spaced out the cups with an axial o-ring to help seat the cvd. They were only just hanging in before and would pop out if u tried to spin the drivetrain by either of the front wheels. The geometry ended up a little weird but it seems to work, just needs the metal arms and it's all set. Flex> I kinda like the rubber bushings so will probably source some smaller black ones before final assembly but red goes faster so they can stay for now. Pretty neat looking ssd axle case works well coz both the hsp and ssd housings are reverse rotation compared to the axial so it was an accidental double win. As it gets heavier the suspension is getting more and more flexxy. The rear is quite stiff so it's possible it might get swapped front for rear but it might just need different Springs and oil on rear once truggy cage goes on. Since this shot I gave in and drilled body post holes I drilled some holes closer to the pivot point of the knuckle in attempt to Get better Ackerman. I think I succeeded but I'm concerned that the servo has such little travel that it mightn't work properly |

keep up the good work. Good to see people trying different things. Id have a look and supporting the servo on the top side aswell. Instead of all the load staying on the bottom ears. |

Good idea thankyou, I was on the fence about that. Won't be hard to brace it to the shock towers.

Better off doing it before it becomes an issue.

Made up a floor device and some basic body mounts Servo posts laid over and drilled out so a bolt thru the body can located into them. Started a bumper. Not 100% on it so some feedback on the design would be nice thanks And also on the fence about how the rear tire should sit. Flat or upright |

Some minor progress, I chopped the top hoop off the bumper after finding the perfectly bent piece from a previous project. Then proceeded to start the lower skid. |

Was able to get started on the rear section today, pushing to get it ready for a camp trip in a fortnight time. Should be able to knock over the cage throughout the next two days off work. |

Got a fair bit done on the rear half today Threw some paint down but regret being lazy about it and not taking anything off. |

Made some major changes tonight. Solid axle swap. Ran into badness with the way I put the ifs together. Too much slop. So I used my old narrowed ar60 from my Jeep including panhard and steering Setup. I'll put up some pics later |

went for a crawl up a local 4wd trail and snapped some shots. then decided that the flimsy pressed aluminium bumper just wasnt sufficient for the weight of this rig. any time it fell over or backflipped, it would bend and tweak. so steel tube came to the rescue. planning on mounting up a nice pair of spotties on the bar as well as a UHF aerial mount. |

Work trip north to Brisbane netted some different terrain. Highway drainage pits make challenging rock forms And some fun camera settings to show off the treads Next day I found a construction site and it suits Burnie "to the ground" |
