Nice, where did you order from? Also how did you strip the paint off that new bright body?

I got the shocks off eBay there are a few that look like they may be the same but this particular brand was the only one I had seen a review on.
But search LNL shocks on eBay they should come up .
yes I had the body completely painted and sanded then decided to add metal fender flairs . I messed the paint up pretty bad in the process so I sanded it back down .

Just noticed you said strip the paint off . I just lightly sanded the the body to give the primer something to stick to . Then primed painted sanded and polished

What grit sand paper did you use? I'm seeing some posts where people used 400 for initial coat and then 1000 grit to smooth it out. Would you agree?

Also, those fender flares you got from RC4WD. They require additional drilling or are they glue on?

I think 400 grit would be a good starting point for the paint. I cut off my bumpers and flares which left uneven edges. I used 150grit to smooth the plastic then worked my way back up .
The RC4WD flares required about 4-5 small holes to be drilled for them to mount to . I really like the way metal flares look but I think I'd recommend going with axial plastic flares bc they have some flex to them that will hug the body lines much easier than the metal which will not give at all.

Here is a great link to perfect paint. Some of the really high grits may be a little excessive IMO but it did make the paint look like a real cars paint . The key has been using the rubbing compound, polishing compound and then good coat of wax for protection.

Don't mean to hijack your thread, but wanted to share progress and ask for opinion. Should I be concerned about the sanding down the small details such as around door handles and door hinges etc ? Also, any other feedback as to what else I should do before applying primer would be helpful. Btw I do plan on cutting off the rear flares and get the RC4WD Plastic ones.

Sorry, Scuff the pint? Paint ?

I am going to go over everything with 800grit sand. I don't plan on doing the roof because I'm leaving it black anyways.

I used rustoleum 2x coverage for plastic . Iv used it before on a golf cart restoration I did. it bonded to the plastic really good and when following the above method for sanding it come out looking like a professional paint job. Iv been really happy with it on plastic .
