ta02 scaler trail rig

This is another one of the lot I rescued from the trash it was a s10 ta02t to start with this rig started my crawler craving and inspired the jugbuster build and ultamitely to buying a spawn the ta02 started the addiction anyway I changed the body to a Subaru brat one of my 1:1 wheelers is a Subaru wagon so its kinda a mimmic I couldn't find a wagon body so the brat was close enuff I painted it to match I even used the same paint that mostly flaked off my wagon is a few different shades of blue depending on were you look and black so it matches pretty good I've been modding it for a long time I built a metal subframe and front bumper running a brush less 3000kvw motor well the chassis disintegrated after landing from a big jump on to concrete so its build time

I've always wanted to make it duel motor it was eating gears every now and again I figured the torque would be split between 2 gear sets so I ordered a ff01 for the front gear box I realized it would be easier to use the rear gearbox front and rear and mod the steering set up after I was done building it so next one lol I had to buy a complete ff01 car to get the gear box

I made a aluminum tub I keep it low my roo has horable aproch brake over and departure angles so I keep that with my new chassis then bolted the subframe to the pan and the front gear box was mounted backwards on the subframe so both motors are towards the inside

Figuring out the steering was the hardest part here the first setup that well just sucked

I had to redo the steering about a dozen times in the end its better than stock but still sucks by today's standards
End set up

So the current set up is 2 3000kvw motors 2speed controllers 2 gearboxes and 2 different rigs combined to make one the ff01 only had 2 spur gear sizes a 66t and a 71t I got the 66t the ta02 was running the stock spur gear a 74t so I grabbed a extra 74t and stuffed it in the ff01 gear box its a little to big so I filed out the gearbox to fit 2 new 17t pinnions and its all good this thing is a monster it crawls and hauls and the overall wheeliin capabuilitys closely match my wagon too outside of the power anyway a pic of the 1:1
