Finally got some time to work on the fabrication for this rig.

Needed to get the motor trans tcase mounted.

Plus I got the rock sliders done.

Fit the motor up and everything fits well. Even the headers fit.

Cut out the body so I can start the cage. Starting with the b pillar and had to quit afterwards.

The front is a wraith axle (same as the bomber). The rear is an SSD centered d60 axle.

Got the roof halo and A pillars in. They took a couple tries to get right and match the 1:1

Got some more work done before he weekend came to an end.

Back half is all basically there. Still need to get/make a fuel cell and mount that in the cage.

After that I got the front started and the oh shit bar on there. One sided seat bolster is where I had to stop. The lower link mounts were a doozie brazing to the chassis bit it worked.

Running out of steel and filler rod so I’ll make slow progress until this show up.

Next step is the suspension as I need to get the shocks in and figure out the mounting for all the other bits.

It’s not easy to make out but I ran two new cross members for the lower links. The uppers go to the side plates.
It’s not the way I would design the suspension but I’m sticking to what the original did.

The upper links for the front have to wait a bit as I need to do the custom front truss.

Two key things up there. Clearance of the motor for the servo and the upper links. And the front truss will hold the hyd ram that links the two front wheels.

The “ram”. It’s a piece of 1:4” dom at .028” wall with some 3/16” rod as the cylinder

there is a lot more to be done on the truss. Just need to get some time to work on it.

I’ve been able to piece together parts of this over the last week. Got the front truss and steering ram done. Didn’t take Any more pics along the way but here it is. Also got a chance to use my new media blaster. So much better than the last one.
