Link to those Chinese wagon wheels?
Do you have a link to the Banggood crawler ESC? I'm a huge HobbyWing 1080 fan and I don't see myself switching, but I might give the Banggood ESC a try if the price is right.

Wow. Those wagon wheels look a helluva lot better than RC4WD's. The metal seems thicker. Do you know if this is true?

And I like how the front and rear holes are different sized so there isn't an alignment issue and slight overhang with the holes like on the RC4WD wheels.

They’ve gone up $5 since I bought my second one. It looks a lot like the HW1060. The motor looks to be rebuildable and it has bearings on both ends.

Oy vey! After looking at that ESC, I'll stick with my HW WP 1080, but thanks for the info.

The motor appears to be the generic Chinese motor sold by a bunch of different vendors.

Correct. It's not on par with the 1080 at all but for a light rig or test gear it'll do.

The wheels measure just over 1mm thick.

What's the thickness of the metal that the white halves are made from?

Can you tell me whether you've been able to set the options on the BG brushed crawler ESC? All of the programming cards say they're for brushless only. Is there a way to do it with just the remote? If not, which card do you use? Thanks in advance.

The suggested program card is also the one that programs their brushless ESCs. It works with both the brushless and brushed.

Default Custom Chinese D90 (Edited)

Tried to do some math...

The axle has the following gears: 13t running a 20t and then a 14t running a 37t. That equates to basically a 4:1 ratio?

My gearbox is a 5:1 transfer case 2:1.

Thats 40:1? And I’m sitting with a 45t motor... Dead slow!

The rest rocked up! Just waiting on the spare tires.

Chassis:

Austar D90 effort. Cheap as chips and mad nice and thick. All included screws and hardware is 100%.

The completed chassis:

The Austar 45t motor got donated to the FY03. The only other motor I had lying around that would give me better wheel speed was a Tamiya Sort Tuned. It seems to be happy in there. Huge lift on tue suspension to accommodate the big tires on the wide axles. The 10kg Blue Bird servo has enough power to turn the wheels even if I wedge it into a shitty spot. Surprised...
The wheel weight and probably the axles gives a good enough low center of gravity to allow me to do quite a steep side hill. F/R weight is probably around 55/45.
No noticeable torque steer.

Top speed is a slow leisurely walking pace. It feels stupid slow, LOL, but its got loads of control. Very accurate.

Will have it out sometime an try to take some video. I’m happy thus far. Just need to finish off with some accessories.

Been messing with it every gap I get. Moved the servo up on the mount... Where it should be. Got the shocks as good as I can with what Ive got. They’re not perfect but they get the job done. Need more spring options.

The Tamiya Sport Tuned seems ok for now, it does get hot too often though. I have a china ‘serviceable’ 21t on the way to help with getting the motor rpm down slightly when its cruising around asI think its because I’m just over revving the poor 540 too much? I’m getting around 45-50min on an 3300 NiMh pack atm. Thats on grass, stormwater gutters and tree roots around my house. Still getting used to how slow this thing is, lol. Will see if I can get a 5000mAh sometime.

Another 5 weeks till the last accessories should he here. Saw some China Landie Beadlocks that looks promising on Aliexpress.
