Alloy or Plastic?

building up a Hardbody JK. looking to get fenders.

there is 2 options that im considering.
Axial Poison Spyder AX80122 & AX80121 (original on SCx10 Jeep jk)
or
RC4WD Aluminum Fenders. (rep of the axial just CNC alloy)

is it worth getting the Aluminum for realism or stick with the plastic ones?

plastic would be less weight and being that hard body is heavy as is maybe a good idea.
on the other hand alloy would look so much better, cleaner, and more realistic after some scratches. your thoughts?

Re: Alloy or Plastic?

Plastic IMO is just as realistic as metal. There are Plastic flat fenders available.

I say it depends on how you're gonna drive it and are the plastic fenders hard plastic or flexible. If the fenders are hard plastic and you're rock crawling there's a chance they might crack or break. You won't have that problem with flexible plastic or metal. But if you just light trailing your rig. Any decision will do.

My 1:1 jk has plastic fenders so either way would be realistic.
