Default Time for winning.

I've cheated at tiny trucks, I've discovered that winning is hard, so therefore, in my 3rd year of taking Class 2 seriously, obviously it's time to win.

Toyzuki supplies the chassis this year. I met the guy who runs/designs/fabs these at AxialFest this year and was instantly sold after watching it attack the trails.

With his instructions, assembly was super quick, less than an hour. You'll need all the bits from the Axial SCX10II kit transmission, and two additional shafts, (AX31134, AX31410) and a couple spare bearings. As you can see, he includes a lot of extra stickers. Key to any successful build.

Whole thing completed.

Magical transfer case allows for regular drive to both axles, or overdrive to the front, if you so choose. Just swap the output on the rear. Easy!

Hard Panhard mount. For panharding. Interesting to note, the chassis only allows for a servo winch to be mounted in the rear.

Low motor mount location. Like, super low. Impressive how much weight is put so low on the chassis.

Cheater angled skid. Still allowed in C2, but outlawed for C1 in 2018.

To ruin all that weight down low, I'm considering pulling these out of retirement. Thoughts?

Also, sneak peek at my body choice. Almost as if it was made for it. Made by the very talented joe122, aka Scott Lempert.

More to come.

Trx-4 axles? More parts availability and more aftermarket support with ability to add weight down low as to not completely ruin your COG.

Dammit there was that weird "thud" sound again from below my computer table, and i feel a sudden loss of blood pressure in my 4 longer extremities.

Thats some really likeable stuff right there.

Nope. Unless the styrene was purchased from there, but I don't think it was. Powerwagon for victory, joe122 made it. He's a Vendor over on another forum I frequent.

Same parts availability, as the MM's are all Vaterra internals. But yeah, I see where you're coming from. I'll investigate my options - thanks for making me think outside of the box.

Powerwagon is much different from Russian truck.

I'll comp anywhere I get invited to. And it fits my schedule.

I can't be held responsible for any crotch related mishaps.

It's not the same body that I was thinking about. This is the one on eBay.

Hey man, thanks for the compliments. I absolutely loved that JK you built - seriously awesome.

So got the Mad Moose axles on. And all linked up for a 12" wheelbase.

Obviously, no suspension work yet, but I'll probably go droop Traxxas big bores again. Those worked so very well.

My biggest concern is ride height. I want to make sure that I'm as low as I was last year - of course, using portal axles kind of puts me at a disadvantage in that regard. Doing some simple measuring, at full droop, I should still be around the same height as last year, despite the portals. Please note that those wheels/tires are there merely for mockup purposes, as I have few wheels that will fit over the portals.

More to come.

I'd run them MM's, and if the truck gets too tall when suspended, run a sub 4.75" tire... I cannot wait for the next few updates! You've motivated me to pickup a Toyzuki v2 chassis, I'm planning to run a clod body. You see any issues running 11.5" WB?

I'm hoping so. Avanord pointed out that I may run into clearance issues with my motor at full droop. We shall see.

I can see a smaller tire working fine. These look comical as it stands right now so smaller may be smarter. You're going to love this chassis. Taking another 1/2" out of the wheelbase shouldn't have any ill effects, and might actually work better.

Are you going to run a tire that scales out to a 40' or something?
