Default Weeeee Rock buggy

My pal Ammon had this chassis, i think it will be perfect fOr a 1.9 rock buggy. I'm uncertain of the OG builder but it's not too shabby. It will need a little work but Im ok with that, I LOVE DOING TOOOB WORK. This will be a quick build and ready to drive very soon... I hope!!

Full tooooob chassis
Custom dp built RC4WD D44 centers
3 link F/R
Axial drivetrain with VP Hurtz dig
On board winch
RSD shocks
Shaved 1.9 Compass tires
Modified Axial beadlocks with LURC rings

What do we have here??? any ideas?

It is a axles truss, 3 link, panhard, shock and lower link combo i brazed up the other day...

MOUNTED JUST GOTTA POP A FEW HOLES IN THE DELRIN TOOOBS. I ended up using genuine AXIAL c-channel frame for the lower link mount because when i notched it, it fit the tooob plate perfect.

NICE AND SHAVED!!!! I LOVE LURC RINGS!!!

COOL LITTLE CHASSIS DESIGNED AROUND A SCX10 SKID. ill be sandblasting the chassis as well as adding some internal braces for winch/interior. Will also replace the 6/32 hardware with alum screws.

MORE SOON!!!!

Thanx there I was excited to use the D44s but I think I'm going back to some well built SCX axles. I think they will take the abuse better from dig.

Decided against the d44 axles with their small bearing retainers im just not confident using them with dig. Using the ol trusty built scx axles.

Built a ridiculously ugly panhard 3 link axle mount

Bulletproof trans with a v1 VP dig

XR front axle width and standard rear

I love the direction this build is heading.

Keep up the good work, what’s your plan with the servo position?

I’m slowly collecting parts for a WErock buggy myself.

Roller!

I have major plans with this rig but gotta get it running for now to do some testing in 2 weeks. There is a local group heading to So. Utah to 3 Peaks and St George to do some rock crawling on some of the best rock on the planet!!!

Love your build, I have a question. I made a custom axle and I don't have a top link mount and I need to do something like what you did and braze one. What kind of brazing stuff you use? I'm new at this kind of stuff but excited to build realistic rigs. Be the way, how is your mount mounted on? I didn't see any screws bolting it on so that's why I asked. Keep up the good work

Nice build!
Do you have any idea what it weighs currently?
I saw that you listed these axles for sale. What's next?

Thanx I use a small Mapp gas torch unless I'm building small parts like trusses then I use a full size torch acetalene/oxygen setup with a very fine brazing torch!

And no this truss is not mounted to the d44 yet, just mocked up!

Making some minor changes to the chassis and axles

Will be installing some SSD diamond pros

As far as the chassis I cut the rear bracing out to give it more of a truck look, added double shear rear shock tabs, New front shock towers, taller rear upper link mount plates.

Got some more brazing done, rear panhard mount and New front shock towers as well as a Stainless flek paint sprayed on the chassis.

Rear panhard for no reason other than its KOOL
