Default Crazed Jeep JK Skeleton

So the other day I was looking around on my lunch break and saw this jeep. I knew I had to build one.

Happened to have this tekin package waiting, so that will go in..

Ordered my body off ebay, too cool.

Set it on a Deadbolt chassis and axles loosely to see how it fit... Tires are much too big but the chassis did fit well..

Looks like a 10.75 wheelbase should be perfect..

Its gonna be cool.

So I recruited some dudes to work on this thing..

They got the axles laid out..

And they got it up on stands for a mock up..

Guess its axles first..

My delivery finally came in from GCM..

I also got some scale hardware from locked up RC for my Krait Wheels..

Wasted no time setting the axles together..

Mocked up with a bad shock setup on the rear ( was waiting for my dinky setup)..

Looks pretty good, too high in back..

Sorry for the bench flex shots but I am really liking this thing.
Pic of how the driveshafts turned out...

Tie rod, had to go under the knuckle or it would hit frame while flexing..

First setup for drivelines and transfer case, I ended up changing this..

I built one to a similar spec a while ago - that GCM chassis is probably the nicest chassis I've ever had the chance to build.

It was not actually mounted in those pics yet, I'll show you how I did it when I update the pics...I used the GCM in the rear and got some electronic spacer gimmicks for the front.

I'll find the pics.

I took a old scx10 tranny that I bought somewhere, had metal gears in it, ..

Used the spacers that came from GCM..

Locked UP RC slip eliminator kit..

And my other Ebay Driveshaft..(I like this one more than the other driveshafts as it takes the same drive pins as the axial kits)

Getting electronics sorted out...

Saw a few people running these on facebook, thought I would give it a try..

Should work, drag link looks a bit short but we shall see.

Got the GCM bodymount kit from shapeways..

Used the rear as designed but got some computer standoffs for the front...see the hex guys there, that way the hex stays on the body and I can run 3mm screws in easily

Negan Likes it..

Picked up a spare Krait wheel for the spare..

Aquaman likes..

Lots of tire contact with the stock bumper, time to cut..

Spare tire mounted up..

Ever see SHCS lugnuts? Either have I..

Wrassler approved..

Cool.

Here is a better pic of the front standoffs I used (the hex part)

Rear Body mount..

Bolted my switch right here since I am not planning on using that kind of bumper mount

Starting on electronics..

A little long..

First I'll show how I did the battery mount wrong with the dinky kit, then how to do it right...

I wanted to bolt this adapter to the inside of the rail so I drilled new holes, Same spacing as the dinky kit..

This made the strap too short..

Zipties So I could drive around the living room..

Woo Hoo!

Now to do it right..

Mounted the adapers to the old vertical shock plates..

Had to drill thru the plates to use the threads of the dinky mount to tighten it up. Spacing was not the same as dinky's so I had to slot the rear hole, much like the slot in the frame...

Tied up the battery connection to the tub..

Final battery/body mount setup..

1300 3S..

Ready to play..

Couple pics from the lake, there was a rooty trail going down to the dock that was fun to play on, was more about just cruising around and relaxing..

And the video from the lake..
