| Discontinued CC-01 Parts...
I was looking into getting a CC-01 tub chassis, but noticed on the Tamiya Parts listing that the following parts are already discontinued... 50555/58145-141-140-139 Upright aka Steering Knuckles 50604 TGX Wheel Axle aka Stub Axle 58178 Prop Shaft aka Drive Shaft Is there any reason to be concerned about this? Are they so very unique to this chassis? Is the entire chassis slated to be discontinued? |

I think you are over thinking buying one. Most of Tamiya's kits have parts that interchange. Are these parts being listed on Tamiya's website as being discontinued or Tower? Big difference. Don't trust what Tower says, that's their stocking deal, not Tamiya. It's about what to stock and what doesn't sell enough. A driveshaft can be made from many other things, 'Pede shafts, Jato shafts, TXT shafts, etc.. Stub shaft is probably very close to the TLT, TA01/02 and other rigs that share many parts. The steering knuckles are also probably from the TA01/02 family. Don't worry, just buy | |

toyofast, I PM'ed you about a FJ Cruiser Body and... all true. I was looking at Tamiya's site for the parts. I have been buying Tamiya Models since the early 80's and finding parts has always been easy. I guess I am hesitant when I see the word discontinued. |

The only gripe is finding XC specific parts, like gearsets and chassises.
