| XXL Yota Build Thread
I've been wanting to do a build thread for a while now but most of my builds go so quickly I forget. So this one is going to be a project I've been planning for a little while and am planning on taking my time on. The project has been dubbed the "XXL Yota". SCX10.2 chassis and axles with 4 door long bed Mojave body. Plan is for full interior, scale motor and trans. Also this will be kept secret til the end but its going to have an off the wall paint scheme.. Stay tuned for updates over the next few months. Plan to debut this one at the spring GCM event in North Carolina... Also will be finishing construction of my scale garage along the way so may have a few shots of it as well.. |

So this all got started with a Cab I picked up in a trade a month back and a brand new scx10.2 kit I got from someone who " needed money bad". Only paid $200 for the sealed kit.. I used the kit trans for my comp rig along with another set of built 10.2 axles I had laying around. So after a little inspiration from my buddy Todd or TODBLDZ on here. This new project has begun.. https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...74&oe=5AA51D1B https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...c2&oe=5AA5D528 also grabbed this GCM trans and transfer case from the same guy I got the cab from for around $100 in another trade deal. https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...6b&oe=5A9AE6F1 Last edited by Bugs Crawler; 11-10-2017 at 03:31 AM. Subbed as well. Can’t wait for the TRX-4 “KIT”version to drop for a nice well thought out winter build, plan on taking my time on it just like yourself. Can’t wait to see what this “off the wall” paint job is.

Sorry guys seems as if photobucket may not be the best choice to upload photos. I haven't used my photobucket account in over a year and its all " Tweaked out" at the moment. Not sure how I can get my pics to actually show up in the thread, but atleast I now have links that will work for more than a couple hours.

Made a little head way on the front bumper this morning before work. Also did a little plastic welding to get rid of the body post holes in the hood that the previous owner of the cab had drilled. I'll post some pics tomorrow since the only way I've found to do it is with my work computer. How is everyone else posting pics to RCC??

My buddy TODDBLDZ told me to download taptalk. After that it is very simple.. I also paid the $20 per year membership for unlimited picture uploads plus a few extra perks on the forum.

I know I'm kinda all over the place with this build but I can't focus on one thing for very long. I get bored with it so I started looking at the tamiya grill yesterday and then this is what happened.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Started building the aluminum frame extensions that will also aid in multiple functions.. Battery mounts Shock mounts Electronic tray Also functions as rear inner fenders.. match drilled some 1/8"X1" aluminum flat bar to the scx10.2 chassis. Now need to fab up the rest of the "tray" and do some welding. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
