Bought a bomber cage off ebay to fit the new scx axles to. Unfortunately the new scx 2 spd trans is specific to the new scx ii frame so will have to get a bomber trans otw. Also messes with the driveline angles.
Moving onward

Initial impressions. Wheel base way too long... 14.5 for 1.9. So stock scx ii lonks wont work, tis s shame because theyre pretty. Also, far as i can tell stock upper link mounting points are messing with the swing of the axle through suspension movement.

What i want the final product to resemble, however the frame arc up front will be an issue for a good bodyline

So link work was fun and also expensive. I have learned a few things about link length geometry, but it was bought and paid for. Needless to say i have some spare ti links now.

Really need to adress the radical drive angle, but for now its manageable

Also using this brushless outrunner setup from savox. Had one in my original scx 10 that i bought back in 06. Still running strong today. More torque than any motor out there and zero cogging. Havent been able to try it out but should be awesome

This is precisely what I'm going to do with my Wromber. I'm using the Wraith skid and tranny so I'm hoping there won't be any link clearance issues.

I am concerned about how to mount the servo. I saw a 1.9 Bomber at the RECON G6 on Oahu last month and it looked real good. He was using the original SCX10 axles with the servo mounted on the axle. That's not an option with the 10.2 axles so maybe a CMS setup is in order?

Maybe mount one of those bellcranks up front and put the servo on the skid plate?

I don't think there's room on my skid for the servo and mounting the bellcrank would also be a challenge. CMS seems pretty straightforward (famous last words), at least for mounting the servo. The panhard link will need a custom bracket though. I'm not too crazy about putting the servo up higher as well.

Unfortunately I won't have a chance to get into this until after the holidays. That will leave plenty of time to see what others come up with.

Wheel base is really close. Want to keep it short and narrow. But already considering widening the rig with vanquish slw hubs.

Possibly most important defining feature of build will be adjusting the raked look of rr10 rollcage.
