No reason to do it in any order that makes sense. So lets print up some sets.

Beats forming the seats out of an aluminum can, and probably about the same weight. Nice cage /chassis

They are printed will low infill so they are also very light.
Here is a better picture after a coat of that rubberized paint.

This will double as my class 2 rig and after runnging the points I was 1 short.
Easiest place was sliders. Again I turned to the 3d print. Luckily somone already design something that i liked.

The interior was a little Spartan, but at the same time Im trying to keep it fairly simple and light weight(avoid top heavy).
To solve this I designed a center console and its contents. I have my thermos, coffee mug, can of skoal apple, my samsung S6 Edge and a walkie so far.

Still have a little room for more.

Next thing was a scale item need for the July Recon G6, a map of the campground where ot is being held.

Figuring it is 2018 I went electronic. Designed up a display and resized the campgrounds map.

Next was dealing with a functional scale accessory. Sand ladders are useful but take to much time to deploy and recover. Turning again to the printer I solved that with a mounting system that was secure and quick to use.
Spring loaded with a swinging latch that locks directly into the board.
I did this for my sons rig and they became a usable item, which in my opinion adds to the fun.
Since the mount he uses them all the time. Such a simple little thing has really increased the pace of trail runs and stopped use from using the foot to get over obsticals.
Plus it integrates into thw tire mount so scale points there

Keeping with the no common sense order of the build. Let do a driver. With a Jason X mask, also a recon accessory, since it occurs on friday the 13th like it did in 2016.

Thats right old school Sgt. Slaughter sporting the Iron Sheiks head scarf and the Jason mask.
His legs were a touch to long so instead of cutting up the floor pan I took off his feet, cut out a 1/4 in of calf and put him back together.

Next I moved onto rock lights. $2.50 shipped off ebay got me 5, 12v COB LED's that run directly from the battery.
3 of them are more then enough light for the night runs.

Cool build! So much awesome 3D printed stuff. I love the center console. And the rubberized paint on the seats is such a great idea.

Where did you get the Iron Sheik driver? Is that an old WWF figure or did they remake them?

So couple more 3d prints. Simple things like the correct size spaces for the shocks and a battery box. The battery box was a loose fit, so i ran a bead of silicon around the lid to make a gasket, that made it as snug as a bug.

More 3s printing by necessity. Did you vuys know the tfl is a 4 link suspension with a cms. That wasnt going to work. Since my tko axials already has a VP mount I just needed a mount on the chassis.
So I combined an electonics tray with a mount.
I have just the smallest amount of bump steer, i think. More like a little chassis dip. Similar to when you have your steering servo at full throw but the steering cant go any further so it compresses the suspension.

Either way it is manageable as it only occurs at the very end of the servo throw.

Ill return to it after some trail time.

Double motor winch on 7.4v. This ones going to be issues I think. Not sure about the clearance.

Boy does it pull like hell. Powered by HeyOk. Dont tell him I said this but his HV winch controller that is supposed to run off 6 volts to the relays then 7.4 volts to the rest of it.(or maybe im backwards) runs just fine having both powered off the 1080s 7.4v bec as does the flysky reciever.

Worked on some roof stuff. Printed a boat and designed up a rack to take up the empty space.

I'm tired from hitting "like" so many times....

Now THAT's the way to fully utilize a 3d-printer!
