"Don't drive angry." My buddy has one in a similar color. Love at first sight for this rig, and I'm fighting the urge to get one. Very nice truck, sir.

| VS4 for the 1.9 noob
I’m getting to be a fanboy now. This rig is out of this world, but some have managed to bend the steel frame rails with moderate impacts. VP has stepped up and posted this on a closed group VS4 on farcebeek . I’m passing it along, as it impressed me ....... “Just to be clear on what we are doing to handle some of the bend issues. Now some of the bends we are seeing are from abuse. And this is why we did not move faster. Nothing is indestructible, and anything can break with extreme abuse. But we are seeing some people bend the frame in a way that is not acceptable to us. That is not the product we went to make, and it is not working fully to our expectations. So we are making an aluminum servo mount that comes down in the frame and supports the bumper. This will make the front end durable beyond what we would want to expect. Now even with that in place, if someone wants to drive into a curb at 30 mph. I am sure something can and still will bend/break. But with trail driving and typical abuse. This should be more than necessary to brace the frame. And yes this will be a free part for our VS4-10 customers. We will need 2 weeks or more to get these rolling effectively off the machine. Once we are ready we will make an announcement and get them out. The rear we are trying 2 different ideas. Both should do the trick, but we need to try them to see what we like best. For the people who bought the VS4-10 rig, we will take care of you, and you will be able to drive this truck with confidence.” Hang up and Drive |

Rig is killer, albeit lousy turning radius. I’ve got the dig unit coming as I got a free tower pro servo thru eBay . So when the silver /clear dig ships I’m ready. Meanwhile I’ve discovered these foams are really bad, as I thought. Work well in rock, wet and dry, load em up with wet sand, nothing! They fill up all the sipes and spin as I watch the foams roll. I’ve got the CI flavor, have to install Hang up and Drive |

| Re: FLOYD a VS4 for the 1.9 noob I saw a couple other people saying this too, I didn’t think it was too bad. Is your servo horn clearing the panhard?

Well a great update for Floyd! Went to VP and picked up a Hurtz V2 dig, and a reliable and cheap Tower pro servo. Assembled with ease , BUT a BIG problem arose, of course it was on Saturday afternoon . The grub screw for the movable dog, was nowhere close to fitting, VP shipped a 3mm grub, the dog needed a 2.5mm. No luck at any of my LHS. So email to Michael at VP, Monday by noon my time I had a USPS priority shipper, new dog and extra 2.5mm grubs in the house! So I’m going to assemble it at work..... the set screw used a .050 hex driver..... tiny!! Luckily my LHS did have a hex driver, installed and loctited dog. Assembly done! flipped driveshafts per VP, reinstalled and tie wrapped electronics, then programmed my 4PLS and gave it a rip....... perfect, now this truck turns! Nice clean fit as expected. Update time. I liked my SSD steelies, but they were boring so a bit of bling was added, along with a set of dual stage foams in the back. As much as I love this truck the biggest turnoff was awful approach angles caused by that wide bumper. Yes it does save the front corners of the body, but a Ripper bumper bolts up and solves the approach issue, the body has been creased though. Hang up and Drive |

You might have noticed in that last shot that FLOYD does get driven, almost daily. So this body will soon be retired, but staring in another project. So VP sent a new body which also includes a new interior , and body detail parts, ordered up a dash from Knights Customs, light kit from Powershift. Wanted a non stock paint job this go around so looked in the drawers and found a Parma mask leftover from SCT days. Mixed up some Faskolor pearls and got the AB out and spent a bit of time. This is mostly water based paint on this one. Hang up and Drive |

Hey what was wrong with the first body? Nothing .......... BUT I wanted something different. So I got out my Zona and a sharpie........ Half Cab time. Not sure if I can body finesse the stock parts or if I’m going with the Club 5 printed one. http://club5racing.com/single-cab-ro...up-conversion/ Hang up and Drive |

Your new body turned out nice Mike. The paint fade from front to back looks awesome. I like the lights in the instrument panel. I like what you did with your old body. The half-cab is a cool idea. I kinda wish I would have "half-cabbed" my second body instead of cutting the whole top off. Oh well, I guess I'll have to get another body! |

Thanks....... I did order a Knights rollcage, as I needed the rear mount and had to go shapeways, so I grabbed the cage. Not sure if I can squeeze it under the roof, hope so as this truck is gonna get rusted and weathered. I’ve done the salt method on styrene , so this will be another notch up as I have a real rust kit. Stay tuned ! Hang up and Drive | |
