Default FLOYD a VS4 for the 1.9 noob

A few here might recognize my name from the Wraith pages. As I started with a Slash, Slash 4x4, I Built a Yeti, and an still building ANDY..... then built a GOM R1 with 4ws, grabbed a Bully ll and messed with that.

Finally I built a tough Wraith , called OPIE, with all the goodies. All these are 2.2 rigs.

Now I see and read that the 1.9 tires are correct , and I followed along a few builds, and almost ordered a toyzuki chassis and Curries..... then I saw Matt at SBG pimp the new VS4, and Damn Matt, you should be called “Huggy Bear” as I went out and financed one. so now the scale bug has started , but I can use that box under the bench........

Stay Tuned

Hey Mike, I've followed along watching your Opie & Andy builds. Loved what you have done with them.
Congrats on the VS4-10 purchase. Your going to love it. Extremely nice kit. Everything fits together really nice. Only problem I had was the tires. The bead is extremely soft and hard to lock in, but with some patience they will bolt together.

I only hope that most folks will get the Huggy Bear reference . Was so close to picking up one of these but for now I'll just have to live vicariously through people like you. Congrats!

Your going to like how easy this is to build. Every piece seems to just fall into place. No cutting, bending, hacking, hammering or redrilling! Enjoy!

You are totally right, so much fun, perfect fit. Not much slop in the trans, and a real Kimbrough gear.

Well spent another hour of fun !! OK I fought the front bearing retainers....... MF tight!!!! Yeah they are together and smooth using the shims, front is noticeably tighter than the rear. Now wait until my 1/16 driver comes in, covers, grease and high steer arms will get finished.

After going thru many reviews and unboxings , I have discovered one thing no one has mentioned: this bag

With that one bag VP has joined the big leagues !!! That 4way wrench has to be included if the kit will be successful !!

Lookin good!

I have heard of other people that had bearing retainers that were tight, but mine went together fairly easy. I really like how the retainer captures the whole bearing then bolts in to axle.

Well good and bad news, VP responded quicker than I could believe, only question asked was "how many"? Michael then emailed me 1/2 hour later with a shipper, Monday USPS will bring replacements and a return label. Oh well I will just build with empty pumkins.... Damn what a great band name..... But Paint and my 1/16th hex driver arrived, AND my head and taillights from lighthouse RC showed up, so I will still build!
