So i picked up this thrashed mini cooper at good will i just saw a sweet little crawler and it dosent matter that it dosent have any doors and i got.a.realy nice surprise when i took it apart the front and the back were seperate pieces that will realy help wit my wheel base option

I dont know what direction im gona go but i know im building it lol my plans so far are to cut out the seats and interior and shorten the seats a bit and ether a scx10 platform or a barrage or rgt or some other micro

I decided to not use frame rails and build it like i would if i was gona build a 1:1 mini in to a wheeler and just add what i need to whats already there i cut the floor pan down trimmed down the front and rear bumpersmade some sliders and started on the cage its gona run scx10 2 axles and a transverse motor and trans set up in the front to a t case this thing is tiny even for a 1/6 scale its still tiny getting the electronics and a battery and 2 servos in it is gona be a challange

I made some progress on this build i got the trans and 1 axle for mocking up i got the trans and motor mounted worked out some rails being a unibody everything is gona mount to the body the motor and tranny bolt to the new fire wall and the nice flat belly i made some rails for the lower links to mount to and help protect the tcase

Here is the templet i made several before settaling on a design that fit right

I transfered my cardboard pattern to some plastic and cut it out

The space im working in

Mounts cut and fitted

Hood back on for mock up

Now time to wait for more parts to come in but i made alittle progress

Thanks yo im realy enjoying the build Its definitly differant and there will never be another one like it i realy hope it works as good as it looks
Its alot of.trial and error and the suspention geomitry is gona suck the links will be very short compaired to other rigs so there will propably be alot of axle swing im not real good with the 3 link setup if nothing less im having fun building it

I got the last of the parts ordered except the axle gears they will have to wait till next month but i should be able to finish the mock up and get the cage welded up and hopefully i can find a few items that i miss placed like a fender flair and a head rest lol but it should be up and running in a month or 2
Im debating on weather to run the silver axles or the black axles im leaning more twords black i think it will match the rig better the silver ones will probably end up on the wraith or the bomber

I messed up my parts order and only ordered 2 drive couplers instead of 4 and the price doubled so i just ordered some cheap gds shafts they seem to be holding up well in my work truck and there cheaper than 2 more drive couplers lol i got the t case installed it ended up right in the middle so im stoked on that it looks like its gona have a 12.5"wheel base there isent much room in front so mounting the panhard bar is gona be interesting but not having to triagulate the front upper links will sure be nice and should be able to gain alittle bit of clearance there the rear however is gona have a big empty space so i think im gona fab up some kinda fuel cell to hang down and maybe make up a rear skid and some exhaust for back there its just so empty it just needs something[

I ran out of rod ends lol oh well they will be here next week its mostly a roller im still waiting for the black axles to show up so im mocking it up with the silver ones i think i ended up with more than 12 1/2 " wheel base it seems both the front and rear got pushed out a lit5le bit theres about a 1/4" more cl3arance than i n33d so maybe ill shorten the links maybe i wont
The shocks are in im happy with the ride hight and no rubbing i just need to find that darn fender flair i would hate to halve to buy another body just for 1 part lol

I figured out how to mount a spare tire wifh out modding it any more the tamiya ball end makes a great hitch and because ive got that rear stinger there i can use a rod end with a turn buckle in it to mount the spare tire to and the stinger hoop holds it perficly on the rig
