Unimog U1300L DOKA Rally Edition I did a thing. Stumbled upon a seller that sells hand built scale bodies and I could not resist the urge. I give you my newest build, a U1300L DOKA Unimog! Going to go rally style on this Mog, it fits perfectly with the M1079 build. http://scalebuildersguild.com/forum/...6&d=1533247653 My plans are the following: Electronics Tekin RX4 Tekin ROC412 3100kV Tekin T-360 Servo ProTek 3S LiPos Spektrum DX5C Spektrum SR415 ProLine LED bars Chassis Axial SCX10-II Axial Transmission Suspension Pro-Line ProSpec 90mm Scaler Shocks Axial SCX10-II Links 324mm wheel base is the goal Axles Vanquish F9 Portals front and rear Wheels and Tires Alientac 1.9 Military Wheels Pro-Line BFG KM3 Mud Terrains This body is super high quality. I was skeptical at first, but now that I have it in my hands I am thoroughly impressed, as I should be for the monies. It came mostly assembled, all that needs done to finish assembly is attaching the bed with 4 screws to the cab and gluing in of the side windows and windshield. Deciding on paint right now, the base will for sure be black. http://scalebuildersguild.com/forum/...7&d=1533247653 http://scalebuildersguild.com/forum/...8&d=1533247653 http://scalebuildersguild.com/forum/...9&d=1533247653 http://scalebuildersguild.com/forum/...0&d=1533247653 http://scalebuildersguild.com/forum/...3&d=1533247951 http://scalebuildersguild.com/forum/...2&d=1533247951 http://scalebuildersguild.com/forum/...1&d=1533247951 SCX10-II chassis under construction. http://scalebuildersguild.com/forum/...4&d=1533247951 Love the look of these wheels, wish there were more out there! I think they will fit the Mog perfectly. http://scalebuildersguild.com/forum/...5&d=1533247951 Pro-Spec shocks to hold it all up! http://scalebuildersguild.com/forum/...6&d=1533248156 It even came with a soft top for the bed! Not sure if I'll run it, but it's an awesome accessory to have. http://scalebuildersguild.com/forum/...7&d=1533248156 Planning on getting this one together this fall. Going to look into some 3D printed mounts so the cab and bed can both tilt for access to everything underneath. More to come as I can get more parts rounded up! |
Re: Unimog U1300L DOKA Rally Edition After your last build, I can't wait to see how this one turns out. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk |
Re: Unimog U1300L DOKA Rally Edition Ack! New Ty@Tekin build thread alert! I have created another sub-folder to store pics of this build within my Tekin custom builds folder... I love 'Mogs...... Can't wait to see this progress! |
Re: Unimog U1300L DOKA Rally Edition I’ve been eyeballing these bodies occasionally too. I have the Loops 406 hard body, but it’s closer to a Tamiya body in size. It is close to scale though, but I’d need some really really small portals underneath. Looking forward to what happens with this build anyways! |
Re: Unimog U1300L DOKA Rally Edition I love these and am definitely going to be watching closely . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Unimog U1300L DOKA Rally Edition Getting paint supplies in order and picked a tire. Went with Pro-Line BFGoodrich KM3 MTs, they look awesome! http://scalebuildersguild.com/forum/...5&d=1533670042 Currently waiting on axles, links and shock hoops so I'm going to get started on figuring out the body and bed mounting. Once that's taken care of I plan to start on an interior and get going on the painting. |
Re: Unimog U1300L DOKA Rally Edition Just about done painting the exterior, just have to finish up the wipers and door handles. Went with a dark metallic and satin black combo. http://scalebuildersguild.com/forum/...1&d=1535060299 |
Re: Unimog U1300L DOKA Rally Edition Damnit I’m going to sell my trx4 bronco body and do one of this sellers mogs.matches the portals anyway and because unimaginable! |
Re: Unimog U1300L DOKA Rally Edition This is looking great! |
Re: Unimog U1300L DOKA Rally Edition Nicely done! The body builder really did do a fantastic job. |
Re: Unimog U1300L DOKA Rally Edition Making progress on the Mog! Assembled a set of Vanquish portal axles yesterday and mocked them up on the truck. Still need to adjust the wheelbase a bit to fit the body, a couple spacers should do the trick. Front axle assembly. Lots of parts = lots of fun! http://scalebuildersguild.com/forum/...4&d=1541178302 Finished front axle. She's a beaut! http://scalebuildersguild.com/forum/...5&d=1541178302 http://scalebuildersguild.com/forum/...6&d=1541178302 http://scalebuildersguild.com/forum/...7&d=1541178302 Incision drive shafts to transfer the ROC412 power to the portals. http://scalebuildersguild.com/forum/...8&d=1541178302 Rear axle mocked up with wheels and tires. http://scalebuildersguild.com/forum/...9&d=1541178421 Front axle. The wheels clear with plenty of room, which was my main concern ordering blindly a set of wheels that do not allow for changing the hub. Should be good to go! http://scalebuildersguild.com/forum/...0&d=1541178421 http://scalebuildersguild.com/forum/...1&d=1541178421 http://scalebuildersguild.com/forum/...2&d=1541178421 |
Re: Unimog U1300L DOKA Rally Edition Working on body mounting, finishing up the body exterior details and wiring this week. Interior will be 3D printed and hopefully started soon! Obligatory bench flex shot. No build is complete without it! http://scalebuildersguild.com/forum/...3&d=1541436518 http://scalebuildersguild.com/forum/...4&d=1541436518 http://scalebuildersguild.com/forum/...5&d=1541436568 |
Re: Unimog U1300L DOKA Rally Edition Love Unimogs. Your build is awesome! |
Re: Unimog U1300L DOKA Rally Edition Iv recently seen an advert on bookface for the new mog on a lease it’s only £360 per month I have absolutely no real use for 1 but it’s very tempting lol imagine the food shopping you could get in there [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Unimog U1300L DOKA Rally Edition Whipped up a quick bumper mount yesterday. I don't like having the bumper attached to the body. Going to paint it black this weekend. Also did some mild trimming to the light cutouts in the bumper and installed Axial buckets. http://scalebuildersguild.com/forum/...0&d=1541525935 |
Re: Unimog U1300L DOKA Rally Edition This is an awesome build! Great parts/electronics set. Look forward to seeing it in action. |
Re: Unimog U1300L DOKA Rally Edition Last week I decided I wasn't really happy with the way the paint on the Mog turned out. It was much darker than I was anticipating and didn't quite do it for me. I sanded it down and took it back into the paint booth for 5 coats of Duplicolor Graphite. I LOVE the way it turned out! http://scalebuildersguild.com/forum/...0&d=1542220318 http://scalebuildersguild.com/forum/...1&d=1542220318 http://scalebuildersguild.com/forum/...2&d=1542220318 http://scalebuildersguild.com/forum/...3&d=1542220318 http://scalebuildersguild.com/forum/...4&d=1542220318 |

Re: Unimog U1300L DOKA Rally Edition Hell yeah Ty, the graphite looks great on it, much better for sure. "thumbsup" |
Re: Unimog U1300L DOKA Rally Edition Finally getting around to working on the Unimog (and many other builds) as some spring fever is setting in pretty hard. Today we whipped up a hinge for the cab for easy access to all the electronics and battery tray. I'm pretty happy with the mock-up, so it will come back off for finishing and painting! Also added some printed mesh to the grill and AC box up top. https://scalebuildersguild.com/forum...3&d=1551996598 https://scalebuildersguild.com/forum...2&d=1551996598 https://scalebuildersguild.com/forum...1&d=1551996598 |
