I think the Injoras look sweet too. Love the bronze color. They appear to go together like the BOOM RACING beadlocks which are far and away the easiest beadlock wheels I've ever assembled!

Thanks mg. Going for a cleaner looking build on this one. Must be the later body style, seems to recent to be beat-up

I haven’t had much opportunity to build, but I did some playing with styrene.

Funny thing is, I have actually carved two of these. I accidentally dropped the first one down the sink drain-hole. This is the second one. Not yet sure if I Am actually going to use it. Unfortunately the kit this body is from used a sticker for the logo and I don’t think I want to go that route either...

I have some SSD axle housings for the AR44’s. They will be going on as soon as the c-hubs arrive in post.

That must have sucked watching it go down the drain after that painstaking work. I’d definitely use that one. Looks good!

There was definitely a moment of disbelief when it went down. I actually tried to fish it out but ended up just knocking it out of sight. At that point all I could do was have a laugh about it. Thankfully the second one only took me about about half the time to knock off.

Some Perspective on the piece

After a couple of days away from staring at the flaws I actually appreciate it a lot more. Funny how that can be

Transferred my front differential over to the weighted SSD casing. Its nice to feel such weight in a hard nylon casing. Waiting on some SSD chubs to find there way here...

Shimmed and bolted down

Some cutting and sanding from when I likely should have been sleeping...

Appreciate that mewalsh! I actually based the gauges on the 08 Tundy. Was going to attempt a rework of the the entire dash line by glueing and sanding down styrene but I am not sure I am ready to engage that volume of sanding.

Still waiting on those SSD chubs from Amain. I am ready to get back into the grease...

Very nice hardbody build! I'd swap the frame end panhard mount for metal though, the plastic Axial piece is known for snapping in half. Grill emblem looks good, I've lost/ruined parts like that all hand made and oh **** wth? lol, if you want to smooth it slightly a light brushing of acetone on the front side will help, just don't get carried away. SSD metal and nylon AR44s look and feel awesome too, waiting for updates.

I am not surprised to hear that those plastic panhard mounts snap eventually. There appears to be a pretty good amount of stress on it when steering. That will need to be addressed at some point.

I may yet try the acetone as well. I am not at all confident that I can attach it in a way that it doesn't come loose. What about Plastruct Bondene for ABS and Styrene? My inclination is to try and make it permanent by melting it in place

Acetone, Bondene and Plastruct are all very similar, couple of them are MEK. Acetone is cheap and works great, made my styrene slurry from chopped up bits of TF2 body plastic for using when I bobbed the bed, worked great, no filling required and I've tested the strong bond lol.
