1965 Toyota FJ40 LandCruiser by Proline

I just got my TRX4 Sport kit and the longer links to extend the wheelbase to 12.8 so the new FJ body will fit. This can be the build thread...

But, I need some ideas for at least some interior - any suggestions?

I got the body in and it's really wide. I would even be happy with just a front seat and dash - I could fab up a flat rear floor with styrene and mount it in the body.

Got a universal light kit too, so at least head and taillights.

Will the proline interior fit? Won’t be accurate but it will certainly look better than no interior IMO.

You should have started this in the Traxxas TRX-4 section!

I'm glad to finally see a build with this body. I'm an FJ fan, but this body looks bad painted in this color that Proline chose.

You are most likely going to have to go with a universal interior from Proline or another company.

Might be able to find an old Scx10 JK body and use that. If I recall those bodies were pretty wide as well. I did that when I got the CRC JK scx10ii. Again, not accurate but will still do the job.

Good ideas guys...
I do have a JK axial body with the cage I could cut up, but I hate to do that yet - it's still a very nice body with driver and co-driver.

Spoiler alert...color...
I wanted a vintage color and the darn polycarbonate paints are a hopeless choice..but alas...Corsa Gray with white top. 8)

Corsa gray would look killer on that body. Can't wait to see it!

Found a good 3-ch receiver on ebay, it came in...is so old it won't work with my dx5c - it's dsm and my radio only goes back to dsm2 or dsmr. Sent it back.

Post office is taking 7-10 days to ship stuff across the country. Not sure why they're so slow but it's noticeable.

Ordered a HH 550 27T, dropped it in my cart, plus $8 to ship, paypal, and it confirmed 2 motors I don't want and billed my card $108. $80 over charged and still waiting for a shipment I don't want.

HW1080 esc
DS3218 servo with alloy horn
8215 body post set
Found a vendor with SSD brass portal covers in stock - 100-some grams for the front axle.
I have some nice gray steelies mounted up with BFG Krawlers that will be perfect. Ordered SSD locking hub and axle hub centers.
SSD plain front bumper - the sport thing with hoop and winch is too much for this old rig. ;-)

Still looking for an interior.

Opened the box....;-)

Very nice Browneye! Corsa Grey is fine color choice. Should look slick with the medium grey steelies. The HW 1080 is all I need for a crawler now , its buttery. Enjoy your bag of motors...lol . WTF eh?

...oh yeah, and the forward weight down low. You are set! The FJ40 will crawl!
