Default Anyone have experience with the Cross RC stuff?

Hi everyone. Im just getting into scale/trail/crawling trucks. The Cross RC SG4c has got my attention but I hear some talk of drivetrain slop? Supposedly there is quite a bit from the factory an that makes it hard to crawl effectively.

Is this something that everyone experiences with Cross RC stuff? Im curious if anyone know if shimming the gears solves the issue.

Thanks!

A friend of mine had one, he said you're mostly paying for the body. He had to replace quite a few parts underneath. So no I don't think shimming it would cut it. You can only shim the diff gears and they are not the only issue.

I suppose there is some slop in the drivetrain but I would say this is only an issue if that's the type of thing that would keep you up at night. We all have different things we're OCD about. It certainly isn't bad enough to affect crawling or driving (unless, of course, there's a problem at the factory and they're coming out "sloppier" than mine is).

More common issues with these trucks are bent link mounting tabs on the chassis or broken CVDs, both of which have fixes available. Overall the quality is good and the body is VERY nice. If you think you want one, don't let forum chatter scare you away.
