Thanks guys. Some more spares arrived in the week: 5:1 Planetary: Just had to grease it up. The cheapo tires: Thinking of ordering UMG10 beadlocks... The HG P802 shocks: Shocks are not oil fillable at all, but they look nice and are dirt cheap. Body is alu, rest is HARD plastic. 69mm eye to eye, so should look cool above the leafs. The internal spring is VERY stiff. Cannot use pivot balls either, just the included rubber bushings. Will draw all of this into cad in the coming weeks to confirm placement and sizing for the chassis. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Got some paintwork started. Need another can to finish the bed. And the chassis when it comes. Color is Rust-O-Leum Camouflage Khaki. I’ve got the shakes and detailing is not my thing at all. This was the result with the paints I have lying around. Parts waiting to go onto a chassis: Next up is trimming some windows. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Got the cab assembled tonight. Just need them mirrors. My steering wheel positioning is out though. Will rectify that sometime. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks! Need to get through the next week and a half at work then I will hopefully have time to finalize the chassis cad for cutting. Then make the front bumper and bridge for tire mounting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

While this is still sitting and I have to still finalize the cad, some P802 axles popped up on Banggood! Now I’m seriously considering getting these as they look really scale. Does anybody know what the pin to pin width are on these? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

This is awesome. Where do you get the ABS and what thickness do you use? I would like to try building a series 1 or 2 Land Rover and I think building this way could work. Great build so far!

Thanks. Its 2mm and some 0.9mm. This came from a plastic wholesaler over here. Comes in 2.5m x 1.25m sheets. We use it to cover corporate stages or fashion runways. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks! A bit of an update too. The axles will be donated by my unimog. I should have the mog’s new portals in the week. Then I’m at least a step closer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

So I ordered myself a HG P802 front axle to check out. Its really heavy. Nice open diff that runs nice and smooth with a re-grease. Only downside are the dog-bones. But it should be ok with the open diff... With the stock hexes it measures 181mm from outside to outside the hexes. 225mm tire wall to tire wall with the wheels and tires i have. Its perfect for this build. I’ll order a rear as soon as we can ship into ZA again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks. I could have stripped a 1:1 quicker and rebuilt and sprayed it by now, lol. I’ve been really slacking with this. Now its going to go even slower with this virus. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk | |

I just realized that my transfer case will be a problem. Final drive is at 19.7... thats a bit low... A 1:2 will push it up to around 28. That should be a lot better with a 35t motor... oops. More to order... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
