410 Pro build

As it’s my first ever Vanquish Product I’m leaving the chassis stock. It all seems pretty good to me. I don’t have a Lexan body, I’ve never done one before so this will be more about customising / painting the stock body but I’ll throw up a few shots I took of the chassis.

Every part of this was an absolute pleasure to build but especially the axles.

I was a bit disappointed the body had the mounting holes already cut, I’m sure I’d read somewhere they hadn’t cut them so I’ve set about a way to cover them.

Hey, the rust is made using iron filings, acid, peroxide and salt. I did a how to here [emoji1303]

Dirty wash is just grey acrylic paint watered down and left to dry.

Well, I got carried away and just could not put this project down [emoji23]

Weathered the seats using some salt just to make them look a bit cruddy.

It was late, I was going to go brown but then I found a can of grey. Wasn’t sure but it works.

Rusting the bed, or is that ****ing the bed? Anywhoo... painted the back with black and then flat clear over the top to dull it down. Same process of iron filings, acid, peroxide and salt to express rust it up a bit.

And this is where I started to snowball, I don’t like bodypins but they’re hugely convenient and quick so made a magnetic fuel cell cover from styrene. Painted silver and then translucent red over the top and a wash using grey acrylic watered down. An axial yeti spare fuel cell top came in handy! I had all sorts of things on the go and a dead phone battery (camera) so the pictures sort of didn’t happen unfortunately. Wish I had of taken more but none of it is rocket science [emoji1303]

Interior turned out great! Love the idea of using the fuel cell to hide the body clips.[emoji106]
