Default Shape_Shfter's 2001 Tacoma

I built a mini-me for my Taco daily driver. Body is a 2001 4 door and my 1:1 is a 2002 2 door. Almost the same but not quite. Wheel and tire type are exactly the same -Method 701 and Falken MTs but not exactly to scale.

RC4WD body, Senduro wheels, Axial tires, SCX10 II chassis, Savox 1230MG servo, Hobbywing 1080 ESC. Pretty much bone stock. Just for grins.

Even though they're "not exactly the same", it's closer enough for me to say, "Job WELL done." ^5

Because I may put this body on other chassis and didn't want to drill post holes, I used magnets to mount it.

I'm also planning on going the magnetic-mount route (on the VS4-10), tho, for a different reason - want to keep the scale look at much as possible.

Ive been using these guys for a long time and can recomend them. Look for N52 neodymium.

Will do. Just curious, but, are you inferring that the magnetic body mount kits available aren't good?

Not a perfect match but a Great match.
Wheels match, body matches. Good as it gets.
Great looking build.
I'm sure if you could build your 1:1 to match your RC, you would.
I'd call that an Excellent Tribute build.
BTW: Great body mounts too.

The match to my 1:1 isn't perfect but looks great to me.

The mount kits may be fine. I had them on my Komoto but they were the glue on body type and eventually the glue broke away and took a big patch of paint off. If you go with the kits and have a Lexan body, I suggest the kind that mount to the inside body rails with screws. If you have a hard body, you have more options.

If you have a choice of magnet, get the N52. Very strong and can handle a minor roll over.

Thanks man!

I wish I could find a Samurai tin-top body. I built a 1:1 tin-top Sammy a long time ago. I re-powered it with a 1.9L Sidekick engine. It was bad ass.
