| WARN winch controller
Last night I worked on the clone till midnight, I made rear inner fender wells and also worked on my winch. I made a WARN controller out of styrene, and shaped it like a real one using pics from the WARN site. I also wrapped cable around the winch, its basically 80lb fishing line, painted in testors aluminum silver...gives it a nice look. I also mounted up the spare tire rack carrier in the bed this weekend. I remade the hold down, as E type R pointed out it didnt look right, and after looking at the real one in the back of my tacoma I realized my mini version did suck so I we got that fix, and I brazed a tamiya flange nut on to the back side as well so I can actually removed the spare as if it were a real set up. Sorry for the blurry pics, took them this morning before work and didnt use the tripod...ill take better ones tonight, as I forgot to take pics of the inner fenderwells |

| Thanks Gary, BTW, your body is coming along GREAT. The pillar looks like nothing ever even was wrong with it and the bed is full painted, just need to "rhino line" it and start the tool box. The cab need to be wet sanded and another coat before clear coating process. All in all its coming along great. -Mike |

packed all my stuff up for this weekends NRCTPA spring nationals, but before I did that, I did a few more things to the clone... I installed ano black alum knuckles from RCP and painted my current axle Cs fat black untill I hear back from syco about my anodized stuff. I also got a box of goodies from RPP, super fast shipping BTW, and finally got my other 2 rancho stickers on the shocks. While I was installing them I was thinking how sick they would look with some red boots...I dont have any red ones, but I did have some spare black Bruiser ones so I installed those too. Here is shot of the rear inner fender wells, they are simple, used styrene and box it all up, painted it flat black. Put my winch hook on too, its one of the wedico ones, I think it looks pretty good. I still have to paint the winch and mount the black control box some how I have also been trying to think of cool things to have in the bed and tool box. In the tool box I have a MSD tow strap, my skate board :P, 2 shovels, an extra drive shaft assembly and 2 flash lights. I am going to make a wild willy NOS tank into a power tank very soon and mount that in the bed, I got to make the grab hand and stuff 1st. I also am going to mount the high lift jack in the bed as I think on top of the box was silly since its heavy and would be a bitch to lift the lid I also have some coolers too to put in. I am on the search for a mini come-along and nylon duffle bag that would hold a sleeping bag, chairs and a tent., and I have to make a tree saver too. Any other suggestion for scale items would be helpful -Mike |
