The Diamond plate is styrene... and I just learned that instead of paint if you use house hold Aluminum Foil and clear it. It will look much more scale looking, however it is really fragile until you clear it.

i got a big question, i have finally saved enough for an R2 and i need to know which is a good pinion to run for a trail rig with wheel speed the priority here. i was looking at the dimensions and my frame rails are exactly as wide as the R2! go figger!! i didnt even plan it out like that just like the body ride height. it just fits. so... what pinion do i need? i got a 55t integy with it.

great build but i think you should mount the rear shocks just like the real trucks. one in opposite direction from the other..

I have an R2 tranny in my comp 2.2 buggy. I put the 8 tooth pinion on it when i got it with my 55 turn motor, and it was very slow. Had no wheel speed to hop up over anything when needed. So I changed to a 15 tooth pinion and I really like this setup, it still has plenty of tourque, and it also has plenty of wheel speed for me now. So I would suggest that you start with at least a 15 tooth pinion on the R2 and see how that works! | |

What size square tubing did you use for the frame? How did you cut it so straight?

damn I did good then because I left and got the same thing for my 'burb and portaband or just bandsaw? If you don't mind can I copy your frame design? If so do you have to scale pics or like measurments I can use? One more thing can you make resin casts?

well i just eyeballed it really. its too long for a burb but uhhh resin wouldnt be as good as steel IMO. have at it, i copied the fram design from chevrolet so i guess its not a problem! lol if it cuts like a hacksaw youre in good shape. heres a link on chassis specs you could use. its pretty handy, i didnt use it but its very close to what mine is like. http://chuckschevytruckpages.com/framespecs.html |
