Can't wait to see the progress once you get some color on it. I really like your mounting solutions, that's been one of the toughest parts for me. I tried magnets first, but that was a disaster.

Yes I knew right off magnets would be a no go. Seen too many bodies fall off. The body is too heavy as it is and I knew I'd be adding some weight. This one is on hold for now. Had some customer stuff come in.

It's been a while since I worked on the wifes rig but here we go. I installed a mytrick rc light kit and cut the doors in to half doors. They didn't line up right at the top with the hardtop. They stick out. Got the door panels cut down and plastiwelded back together. Picked up some paint and more styrene today. It won't be much longer.

Nice job on cutting the doors down!

I've got a 2dr JK hardbody and have been wanting to cut the doors down on it. I wasn't really sure how to make it look right. I like your idea!

Did you use any other materials to put the door panels back together?

I tried using some styrene and had no luck bonding to the stock plastic...

All I used was literally just an old soldering iron. I kept all the shaving from cutting the panel down and used it all for filler where needed. It takes patience but well worth it. I plasti-dipped the door panels today

Thank you sir. I hated the way the top of the door frame lined up with the hard top when bolted on. So they had to go. Eventually I'm going to build some tube doors.

Looks good, i like that color, might want to make some inner fender wells, it'll keep crap from getting all over the chassis, and block that open space

This is the last time this rig will look this clean. We will be heading to Devils Den Arkansas next weekend for its maiden voyage and coming back with battle scars I'm sure.
